BY THE WAY, MY NAME IS TRISHA MANN AND IF I DON'T ALREADY KNOW YOU, IT'S NICE TO MEET YOU.ME,I am a passionate actress and writer and I left the Windy City with the title of former Miss Black Chicago to pursue my dream of doing great things in the entertainment business. Sound like a familiar story? After living a fantasy of being a print model for Fashion Fair and Raveen Hair in Ebony and Jet magazines, then doing runway, print and commercial ads for Luster Hair Care products in Chicago, I began a whole new life on the West Coast. I started off performing in plays when I first moved to L.A in 1997 and one play led to the next and so on and so on and so I lost count, and then came the short films which led to the independent feature films which are taking me to the major motion pictures. My television roles include: Cold Case, The Parkers, Eve, All About The Andersons and Method and Red. I am still performing on stage and presently I am enjoying the role of "Terri" opposite singer/actor Christopher Williams (New Jack City). JD Lawrence wrote, produced and directed this incredibly funny and touching production that is selling out in city after city all over the country. Jackee'Harry, Telma Hopkins, George Wilborn, Melanie Bray and Josh Adamson are also a major part of this amazing cast. JD Lawrence does six different characters and the audiences are wonderfully responsive every single show. We are in Washington D.C. May 5th through the 10th and we will be back out on tour in October, so pass the word! Something magical happens when you step out in front of an audience and allow yourself to transform into someone else, some place else. I have had the immense pleasure of performing opposite Charles Dutton, Stephanie Mills, Samuel Jackson, Howard Hewett, Malik Yoba, Wendy Raquel Robinson, Tommy Ford, Tatyana Ali, Glenn Plummer, Dawnn Lewis, Cynda Williams, Richard Gant, Antonio Fargus and many, many more wonderful film, television and theatrical talents. Each experience taught me something new and each one of those incredible people shared a piece of their skills with me. In 2002 I produced and unexpectedly directed my own God-inspired play, Mama's Will and the cast and crew were wonderful. People still ask me years later what is next for the project, (www.mamaswill.com). Here is the deal, I am in the process of getting the funding now and will soon be filming MAMA'S WILL. I have made wonderful and exciting changes to the script to make it film-worthy. Besides acting, I love to host events or fashion shows as the m.c. or interview people on camera after premieres, film festivals or special events. I presently work for V Fashion T.V.(www.vfashiontv.com) as the co-host to Versatile the creator of the show. We filmed our first televised fashion show in Virgina so stay tuned for air dates and channels. I have interviewed Angela Bassett, Robert Townsend, Wendy Raquel Robinson, Malik Yoba, Giancarlo Esposito, Omar Benson Miller, James Picken's Jr., Glynn Turman, and a host of other wonderful celebrities for ERB Sports Talk where sports and entertainment meet. This is hosted by former NFL player John Booty and also created by The Man, The Brand, Versatile. (www.erbsportstalk.com) In the awards department, I won the Black Excellence Award for Best Actress from the African American Arts Alliance of Chicago for the film Reunion,(reunion-movie.com). I also won Best Supporting Actress at the Noir Film Festival in San Diego. I was nominated for the NAACP Theater Best Supporting role as Persia, Tatyana Ali's big sister in IF YOU DON'T BELEIVE. I enyoyed playing a variety of roles in films such as; Section 8, Reunion, Relationships, Big Bag of Money, Retiring Tatiana, CH27 and Blood Money, and I starred in the original short film version of Restraining Order. I had a wonderful time performing at the African-American National Theater Festival in North Carolina in a period piece entitled, "Washington's Boy". It is based on a true story, written and directed by Ted Lange(Isaac on The Love Boat)and I played a free slave by the name of Margaret Thomas. Whew! Thanks for reading all of this.
