The Germs

We'll run it my way cold men and politics dead...

About Me

The Germs were a Punk band from Los Angeles that formed in the late 1970's. As for the line up, it changed constantly besides Darby Crash on Vocals and Pat Smear on Guitar. Every show they ever played had its own disaster to it whether it be audience riots, the equipment not working, blood, puking, broken bones, or just people hating them. No one thought they could play, and a shit load of people hated there guts. When G.I, their first and I should say last Album, came out, everything changed. At live gigs, before G.I came out, all people heard was static and distortion through duct taped equipment. But when G.I came out Darby's voice was so concise and flawless, it left everyone frozen. The songs portrayed in the album sounded nothing like the garbage thrown live. Darby's voice and literacy left the people that hated the band, astounded and appalled by Darby's attitude, dedication, and sophistication. When I say everything changed when G.I came out, I ment everything. People knew they could play, and The Germs then became one of Los Angeles' top punk bands. Fuck that. One of any punks favorite bands. Darby Crash committed suicide in 1980, at the age of 22 for unknown reasons. Sadly, his death was overshadowed by John Lennons death the next day.
