Every ten years or so, a grew^p based out of our nations capital crosses the musical boundaries and merges into the mainstream music scene as a talent to be reckoned with. Da Grew^p is clearly this decades grew^p to cross the divide. Their music is an exciting fusion of R&B, Hip-Hop, Soul, and of course Go-Go. Early on, Da Grew^p members, Scooby, Tuffy, & O, participated in the Eastern High School Concert, Jazz, and Marching bands to hone their skills. At home, the mix of traditional soul music ranging from Stevie Wonder and Boyz II Men, to the hip-hop of Biggie Smalls and Jay-Z began to fuse with the beat and pulse of their city’s music; “Go-Goâ€. This eclectic range of music played an important role in developing into a delicate fusion of sounds that we now know as GREW^P MUSIC. And while only being in their mid twenties, Da Grew^p has been singing together for over 14 years, and through their music, these three young men have developed a bond that translates into pure, raw musical energy. Their explosive live performances display their dedication, and pride not only to their music and the band they perform with, but to the community they live in. This has transformed them into one of the most sought after young Grew^p’s in Washington D.C.’s competitive music scene. During their journey, they have shared the stage with such acts as Kanye West, John Legend, Lyfe Jennings, 112, Jada Kiss, Raheem DeVaughn, Dru Hill, Chuck Brown, Rare Essence, E.U. and Anthony Hamilton to name a few.
