Hey it's me Jon Igitol... This is just a little side project I decided to put together in College. I am an FAA certified Pilot and avid musician. I play the drums for four bands: my original band the "Four Long Johns," created in the lovely island of SAIPAN (Home Sweet Home!) They play many types of genres, including punk, ska and a little bit of reggae influences mixed in. I also have performed with bands named "Frozen Nipple" and "PORKCHOPS" in Saipan which both play the smooth Modern Rock/Progressive sounds... and I am a member of band composed of Pilots and Engineers in Daytona Beach called SONIC DESTRUCTION.
My First song "Quickee"was the result of the low female population and drunk college guys at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. As the name implies, we are known for being the College with a staggering 8 to 1 Male to Female Ratio! Most of the Male Population admit to being quite "frustrated" with the numbers of guys to girls, and I thought it was funny... So I decided to write about it... I guess it ended up becoming a male ERAU student anthem!
My Second song "Craving" was just as the picture suggests. I was hungry late one night and the only place open was a Bagel Shop across the road that closed up around 1am. So I decided to walk over and get something to eat. I met this girl there that made the perfect "Hot Italian Chicken Sandwich." Hehe... hence I decided I should make it a song. A little more lighthearted than "Quickee," this song is something you could share with your parents!
My Third Song "Princesa" was the result of our bassman Morg crossing paths with the girl in the song's profile pic. Haha a latin firecracker she was, and we just had to let her know!
My fourth song, "Fashion Guru" was the result of boredom some days in the dorms, and me fiddling with Apple's Garageband program and the built in microphone on my laptop... Hence, this was born... blending the best trancy beats with interesting synths, as well as my apparent love for aviation, spawning my entry into this sort of genre.
The fifth song, "Caramel Hunny" was written by my brother Jake Igitol and Morgan Hill Jr. while we were on Christmas vacation in Saipan, CNMI. The song is inspired by all the good things in life... Love, Happiness, Family and great food! Most of the background bass, guitar and vocal work was written and performed by Jake and Morgan, with special guest guitarist, Scott Guerrero from the band Frozen Nipple, providing the psychedelic leads and trancy riffs that make this song fun to listen to. I provide the drums for this track using a Yamaha DTXplorer electric drumkit. I hope you enjoy this song as much as we did creating and recording it!
The sixth song, "No Limits On The Gridiron" was a collaboration project with Morgan Hill Jr. a.k.a. M3K for the ADIDAS football Thrill and Destroy Campaign for 2008. It was a blast coming up with and recording the drum tracks for his song because I got to experiment with different rock-hiphop elements to ensure it was a unique jam. This song encompasses attitude, confidence and power... the three things that all professional football players possess on the gridiron!
The Seventh song uploaded is my submission for a remix contest hosted by one of my favorite bands, Mankind is Obsolete! I remixed the song "Picking At The Scab" off of their new album, "Trapped Inside." I hope you enjoy listening to it as I enjoyed making it!
