Hi! Welcome to my Myspace. I'm Cassandra Clare. My first book, City of Bones, was the debut novel in a young adult fantasy trilogy called The Mortal Instruments. The second book in the series is called City of Ashes and the third, City of Glass.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I love getting questions and comments from readers, and try to always answer my mail; I just ask that 1) please don't send me those mass holiday greeting comments — I hate them! — and please, before messaging to ask me questions, you read the answers below:
1) City of Glass is out March 24, 2009, in North America, Australia, and New Zealand. It will be out in the UK and Ireland July 6, and in Germany in June (no exact date.). No, it won't be sold in the USA before March 24 — that is the firm release date, and no there's nothing I can do to move the date up!
2) That is not Alec or Simon on the cover of City of Glass. It's Sebastian. If you don't know who he is, it's because he hasn't been in the other two books. He's new in CoG.
3) Yes, City of Glass is the last book in the Mortal Instruments trilogy. (That's a trilogy for you — they're usually three books long.) After City of Glass, I'll be writing a new Shadowhunter series called The Infernal Devices. You can find out more about them here .
It will feature some characters you know, like Magnus, and the ancestors of the MI characters. I haven't yet decided if I'll continue the story of the MI characters once The Infernal Devices is done.
4) There are no current plans for a movie of the Mortal Instruments, nor could I do anything to cast you in the movie if there was going to be one. That's it — that's all the movie information I've got.
5) If you want to know where I'll be doing book signings or appearances, you can check here for my upcoming signing schedule! It's updated daily, so if it's not on the page, it's not scheduled yet.
ABOUT THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS TRILOGY
Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments trilogy involves nephilim - humans with angel blood running through their veins. This time, the nephilim are a secret and elite group of warriors, called Shadowhunters, charged with protecting humanity from demons.Set in Manhattan and Brooklyn, "City of Bones" (Simon Pulse, ages 14 and up) drops a seemingly normal 15-year-old named Clary Fray into a world where humans unknowingly exist alongside vampires, the Fair Folk (faeries) and werewolves. Hours after encountering teen Shadowhunters in action, Clary's mother is kidnapped, a demon tries to kill her and she's thrust into the Shadowhunter world, where she might not be as normal as she thinks.
