Escape To Victory

About Me

Escape To Victory formed in the summer from 2006 from members of The Planeteers and The Upstarts with the intention of creating a quad vocalled, "in your face" style of melodic hardcore punk that is lacking in Aberdeen at the moment. We played our first gig in May 2007 and have since had the opportunity to play across Scotland with the likes of Sonic Boom Six, Skindred, Another Breath, Chief, The King Blues and Rentokill amongst others. Steve left in July 2008 and we're back with Duncan of Flaming Katy on drums. We're looking to play as much as possible in the next year and are up for gig swaps, splits, compilations and all sorts of punk rock shennanigans.
Here is a review from our recent cafe drummonds show with The outcry collective - Ending the night on an extreme high are Aberdeen’s Escape To Victory. Thrashing through the set like they only have ten minutes to play, the band show off some stupidly impressive punk rock, almost in the same vein as Anti Flag with a hardcore edge reminiscent of The Ghost Of A Thousand. Comparing the band to these two accomplished artists is maybe a bit too easy though. Escape To Victory have something unique that I haven’t seen from any Aberdeen band to date. Their onstage banter is completely refreshing to watch and you feel part of the experience throughout the set, and for 30 minutes or so the whole room feels like one big family. That is what this band manages to captivate onstage. Peddling through their songs with some impressive precision and ruthless delivery, Escape To Victory deserve to be playing to bigger crowds than this. I’ll bet my left testicle that one day they will. 4/5 www.dailydischord.com
