The Badger Famine

About Me

The Badger Famine is a comedy band from Norwich, UK that formed in 2006 when Matthew foolishly allowed two associates into his shed.

Matthew is the only member who really has a clue about music, however if you are a record label interested in signing us and issuing us large sums of money, we urge you to overlook this small issue.

Brand new video for "No Milk?"!

Below is our music video for "Rabbits"!

And our first music video "The Folk of the Lake".

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: http://www.thebadgerfamine.co.uk
Band Members:

Matthew Brocklehurst - He's really quite tall and is the only member that shows signs of musical knowledge. He plinks the keyboard but is more than happy to play any instrument he can get his hands on. Supplies the unhumanly deep vocals.

[email protected]

Alex Coombes - Contributes the lyrics and has a share of the vocals. A few tracks by The Badger Famine feature guitar played by the hands of Alex, although these are dwarved by guest performances. Music videos and other forms of publicity can be credited to Alex.

[email protected]

Simon Gregory - Simon offers his unique vocal ability and maintains a well groomed appeal. His notable acheivement was to get the ball rolling by singing the opening verse to our first song, "Damn Bad Luck". The only member of the band whose first and last names qualify as a first name.

Influences:

Matthew likes Beck, Ben Folds, The Cat Empire, Gomez, Jeff Buckley, Mountain Goats, Pixies, Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Shins

Alex listens to Electric Six, Rush, Weezer, ABC, Serj Tankian, Duran Duran, The Human League, Ultravox, Wang Chung and Goldfinger

Simon enjoys a little Brant Bjork, Bloc Party, Kyuss, Killing Joke, Mark Lanegan, Two Gallants, Supergrass, Queens of the Stone Age, Screaming Trees and Masters of Reality

We all love the legendary Logan Whitehurst.

These are the artists that we enjoy listening to. but don't expect to see any of it reflected in our own music necessarily.

Sounds Like:

This isn't too easy...

The most accurate comparison may be to Syd Barrett. Of course any slightly psychotic children's television is a safe bet too.

Other comparisons we have heard through a music reviewing process include Frank Zappa and They Might Be Giants but those are long shots really.
