It all started when three babies were abandoned at a bus station near Tijuana, Mexico. They were taken in by a young, diseased hooker named Rosa. As they began to grow into young boys selling Chiclets in the streets, they started to notice that one of the children, Carlos was continually banging on pots and pans and having tantrums at the other two because they didn't understand. The other two thought it strange but they had habits of their own. After seeing a Mariachi Band, Ricardo was seen constantly holding onto his pee pee and moving his fingers around as if playing on the neck of a guitar. Lopez, being hung much lower than Ricardo actually started to hold his taught and pluck at it with his fingers. This produced a very bassy sound but had a very limited range. As with many habits of young boys, these soon passed .... well, except for Carlos yelling.As this trio finally made it to their teenage years they had sold enough Chiclets and various sexual favors to wealthy touristas to afford instruments. This was the beginning of The Tijuana Trio (earliest band name). Upon playing their way through the local dance hall (whorehouse) and donkey show circuit, the band thought it was time to branch out ... and I don't mean to Mexico City. That's right, they decided to head to America. Crossing the boarder was no problem. The boarder guards thought that they would do the work that no American would ever want to do.
