I'd like to meet:
I can accept failure... but I can't accept not trying."
- Michael Jordan.
I'm a true believer in the ability to accomplish anything that you BELIEVE can be accomplished!
That said, I am the middle of three sons from two amazing parents. Born in Queens, NY, I ended up in San Diego by way of San Jose, CA, by way of Tampa, FL, by way of Frankfort, IL... IBM's relocation program was the cause of the many moves. Basketball and school brought me to San Diego though.
My basketball career ended after one year of J.C. ball at Cuyamaca College in Rancho S.D... I was following someone elses dreams... (What's up G!?). I was injured at my job in the X-ray dept of my local hospital which ended any further hopes of living out those dreams... I know sob story right?
I went back to school to become a graphic designer because I've always loved art... and I had an earful from pretty much everyone that saw my abilities about how it would be, "a shame to let such talent go to Waste!"... (Thanks mom). I finished school in May '05 Head of the class.
Which brings me to where I am today... I recently worked as one of two Graphic Design Specialists for The California Distance Learning Health Network (CDLHN), a non-profit organization through The SDSU Foundation, which works in conjunction with the CDC and DHS to provide continuing education to Health care providers. I was unfortunately laid off due to budget restraints. In Jan '05, I Founded ArtWurqz Dezine... my start-up freelance graphic design company, providing services including desktop publishing, web design, and multimedia. I was a recruiter for Aerotek Professional Services, a national recruiting and staffing firm here in San Diego for a year... before returning to my calling as a Graphic Artist. I work for Plural Publishing, Inc during the day... and ArtWurqz Dezine is getting stronger every day...
