ignite is the Royal Albert Hall's lively lunchtime music series featuring excellent new ensembles in the relaxed atmosphere of the Cafe Consort from 12 noon until 1.30pm. You can come and hear some fantastic music for free whilst enjoying great food and drinks in our Cafe.
ignite started in September 2005 and has proved very popular featuring a wide variety of groups to cater for all tastes including: jazz, Latin American, klezmer, tango, blues.
If you are interested in performing in the ignite season please send your demo and biography to ignite, Royal Albert Hall, Kensington Gore, London, SW7 2AP, we are always looking for new groups. We are looking for ensembles to play for on Friday and Sunday lunchtimes. We are interested in all sorts of music to complement the diversity of the Hall's main auditorium programming and we are particularly interested in alternative styles of music, for example, jazz, world, flamenco. Please note that the May - Aug 2009 season is now fully programmed, but we will shortly be looking for groups for Sept 09 onwards and will contact all applicants after this process.
The Royal Albert Hall is also proud to continue the ignite brunch series. ignite brunch is a Sunday lunchtime music series taking place in the Hall’s stylish Café Consort. It offers you the opportunity to enjoy music by exceptional young talent from the London jazz scene as well as renowned world music artists, whilst enjoying an exclusive brunch.
Tickets for ignite brunch will cost £25 per head and include a Bucks Fizz or Bloody Mary on arrival, a main course and desert, tea or coffee and two hours of live music. Doors will open at 11.30am with music commencing at 12noon and finishing at 2pm.
