To give new and known bands the chance to mix and perform together in the hope that both can gain from the experience, this should enrich modern music by giving new ideas a chance to bloom, and new bands the opportunity be heard with minimal cost (pref: no cost!) In doing this we can then pass the saving to music fans increasing the numbers who can afford a night out, thus creating a wider audience hence a wider output, therefore more feed back excuse the pun! This I hope will increase the chance a new band has to make it in the industry

Ginger Catfish (gingiber punctatus) was started in February of 2006 due to being myself, a music fanatic and me also being a festival freak had always wanted to do my own festival and had never considered just doing small events.

The sails of the good ship Ginger Catfish (gingiber punctatus) were finaly given the push they needed after making contact with Tally from the band Jynxt who were lookin for a gig in our river city, so the ship set sail and the first event on the 29th of March was a huge success, other acts on the night included Paul Malcolm, The Obsoletes, Memory Blind and off course last but not least the Spin offs

The Spin Offs became a familiar face to faithful followers of the Ginger Catfish (gingiber punctatus) movement with there own toe tapping style and the energetic Quinn who can only be discribed as a cross between Bob Wiliams an Mick Jackson, ha ha,

The list of bands Catfish (punctatus) had work with to date are as follows, Jynxt - Paul Malcolm - The Obsoletes - The Spin offs - Elyesium - Audacity - Parity's fall - Toed up - The Forsaken - Laffin - The Fabulous Samantha Seth - Jack Butler - The Alarmist- Paula Knight- THe Underlays (with the former front man of Obsoletes, Stonners new college band)-The Static Spirals, Son-Bothwicks-City life- Krysalis- Opperation:find a freind- Sweet vengance, Starsky, Krank solo, jak Glass, and many others ............................................................ ............................................................ Catfish (punctatus) has now joined with other promoters to help new and upcomming bands from being ripped off, something I am sure we are all aware off sad to say it happens all to often

Ginger Catfish (gingiber punctatus) is now workin along side PYNO Glasgow in the hope to get better bands in better positions and to give the fresh bands a chance to work with established bands to give them a proper push in the proper direction and not to burn holes in there pockets or sell false hope, ie; if we think your shite we will say so!

Catfish (punctatus) has made many friends since then and hasent had the time to thank everyone for their help so if you never got thanked dont think you never helped sad to say even the ones who did all they could to prevent the catfish (punctatus) movment also unwittingly helped so ha ha, all I have to say to them is that neggativity attracts positivity, so all you who had bad things to say thanks for the help HA HA
