Influences: Sounds a little cliche- But a really great wind late in the evening- My piano next to an open window with candles and lightning echoing through my private room. Being left alone sometimes is just as glorious as being blessed with great company. An influence- name me something that's not. Even myself~ from the young, uninhibited recordings old 4 track tapes dubbed w/ my Tascam back in '92- I find a way to heal all wounds emotional and physical by getting lost in something really good.As for the influence that doesn't spark from within,... That's a whole other kind of inspiration. And for this I look to Paul Mcartney, The Beatles, Elton John, Billy Joel, Brandy Carlisle, The Cardigans, Allison Krauss, The Black Crowes, Eckhart Tolle, Cash, Robert Plant, Chaca Khan, The Roots, Rick Rubin & the Beastie Boys, Janis Joplin, Elvis, Hed Pe, Alanis, James Taylor, Eminem, Garth Brooks, Tool, Tribe Called Quest, Keith Jarrett, Liz Story, David Lanz, Outkast (oldschool), Motown- Funk- Soul- Rock- Hip Hop- & Debussy. The Rolling Stones, Slayer, Zepplin, Sublime and a truck stop personally hand-fed my vocabulary. Steve Miller, Phil Vassar, Erykah Badu, Ben Harper, Paula Cole, and Mike Lopez (better known as Slope) have reminded me of my love for stage- and influenced my drive to be as great to an audience as they are to you. I blame my mom, dad, Louise Hill (my childhood piano intructor), experimentation and God for this accident people call a gift. My largest influence ever; the musicians I play with every day. Whether it be a band, a jam session, a showcase, or the studio- My local music scene has kept me writing and keeps my music and my spirit alive and involved every day I breathe. **** and by the way- never to be forgotten thank you all.
