My name is Dahnje. I am from Los Angeles, California. Where I grew up wasn't the roughest street in L.A., but the schools I attended were close to it. I've always loved music--especially reggae, hip-hop, and salsa. Growing up in L.A., though, rap was in my face more.
I first hit the stage in '94 with the street rap group Level Nine (L9). I loved rockin' the stage. I did the whole underground thing here in L.A. The Good Life, Project Blowed, and others.
I dropped a solo underground project (my first) in '96. Later that year one of our group's members (Zene) was fatally shot. I soon went solo due to other problems concerning the group. In '98 I dropped another joint and joined 2000 Crows--a hip-hop crew. I dropped my first complete album as a Crow in 2000 called "Rose's Cantina." I dropped another one in '03 called "Playboy Rap."
I've performed in Los Angeles, San Diego, and Oakland. I've also performed in Belize City, Belize.
Big up ETHIOPIA and all Habeshoch. Big up all Belize massive.
My music has since progressed into dancehall and reggae. The public seems to accept this more from me.
Look out for that heat in '08 -- the collab with Marcus Earl of 10th Planet "Cali Mindset," and the two solo jump offs.
