Papadub

About Me

Formed in 2005, Papadub consolidated their unique sound through late-night jam sessions in a converted garage. Unable to resist the draw of the stage, the band soon became a live project, bringing together different influences and creating a funky blend of Studio One reggae and rare groove.......The group soon outgrew the cramped garage and moved into an old mill in Leeds. The new surroundings inspired fresh ideas and a new creativity which lead to the recording of their debut album. Papadub combines the deep sound of Pete Shand and Bob Birch (bassist and Hammond player in The New Mastersounds) with the creative genius of Kabin Fever production duo Mark Creswell (guitar) and Sam Hobbs (drums). The album features guest vocals from rastaman MC Juggernaut, and soulful hip-hop genius LSK (vocals/guitar). Leeds homegrown talent a-plenty! Between them, these guys have worked with a staggering array of internationally-successful artists including: Utah Saints, Edwin Starr, Brendan Croker, Nightmares on Wax, New Mastersounds, Lou Donaldson, Cathy Dennis, Rebe Jackson, Donny Osmond, James Taylor Quartet, Damo Suzuki, Mica Paris, Carlene Anderson, Ministry of Sounds, Corrine Bailey Rae, Masters at Work, Keb Darge, Snake Davis, Tanita Tikaram, Bhundu Boys, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, Joe Cocker, Sheryl Crow, Nancy Griffiths, Road Argent, Ray Davis, Kevin Rowland, Mark Knopfler, Pete Wareham, Seb Roachford, String Heel Jack, Matt Bourne, Electric Dr M, Ernest Reisiner.
