It all began in late 2004, (vocalist) Ricky Romines met (guitarist) Todd Gaspard at a audition for another band. Ricky wasn't what the band was looking for, but Todd knew what was up. Todd and Ricky got together and began recording some demos with drum samples like "grind" and "drowning in a teaspoon." Harshwords was born. Within a few weeks of writing more music, they began open auditions. The first drummer picked up was Jason Wilson. Then after only a month, they parted ways with Jason and picked up Trey Suttle formerly the drummer from a metal band named Klinkhamer. Shortly after they picked up rythm guitarist, Michael Cunningham. They began playing shows temporalily with Wes Oden (former frontman for Lucid Harmonic) on bass. And then after auditioning numerous bass players, they picked up Issac London. This line-up stuck together for about a year and got a reputation for high energy shows. Around Sept. of 2006, Mike parted ways with the band. After that happened they let Trey go, and Issac after that. Todd and Ricky kept writing music. December of 2007, Harshwords began playing with Jason Wilson (original drummer). They picked up Eli Watts (rythm guitarist), but that endevor was short lived. They picked up Mike (bassist), and Ren (rythm guitarist). This line up just played they're first show recently, and they rocked the roof off of FIRE (Jackson, Ms club). They will be working on they're EP, begining in August at The Recording Studio East (owned by Jeff Manns). Keep an eye out for the new music.
