About Me
A EDIEM broke onto the scene in June of 2006 with a surge of critical acclaim. With homegrown roots based in previous bands that had achieved high local success, these three musicians are no strangers to the music scene. From a variety of backgrounds, the eclectic musicians of A EDIEM gel to create an original blend of alternative rock rich in textured guitar licks, deep resonating bass, and smooth soul capturing vocals, carried by dynamic drums. A EDIEM formed when A.J. (former bassist) combined with long time child hood acquaintance Gerauld (guitar); the two without delay began writing music for their first self titled single. Needing a front man with charisma and larger than life stage presence, the two multi-instrumentalists called upon soulful singer/songwriter A.D. Lewis. Determined to find a hard hitting drum backbone for the band, Gerauld called former band mate Christopher Thomas to provide. Diverse influences and experience, along with solid songwriting, has made this the band everyone's talking about. A EDIEM is known for an energy-driven show that pours off the stage, drawing audiences in. With plenty of past experience, the members of A EDIEM have graced the stage with bands such as, Econoline Crush, Default, Korn, Three Days Grace, Zakk Wylde, and Wide Mouth Mason. Always ready to show the next and bigger audience what they have to offer, A EDIEM is certainly the band to watch for.
A.D. Lewis: Vocals
A.D.'s influences include Jimi Hendrix, Marvin Gaye, Bob Marley, Janis Joplin, Prince, B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Ben Harper, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. He says that music is the best was for him to express himself and touch others the way the music he loves has touched him. When asked about the impact that music has had on his life, A.D. replies, "Without it, I would surely be dead. When I discovered music, it was like an electric soul release for me."
Gerauld: Guitar, Vocals, Keyboard Effects
Gerauld has been writing music since as early as he could hold a guitar. With a little help from his bandmates, some of this material has begun to see the light of day for the first time. A few of his influences include Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, Cake, The Tragically Hip, Our Lady Peace, Stone Temple Pilots, and the B-52's. Formerly a member of Shake The Hazy, Gerauld's pure guitar sounds, quality vocals, and musical creativity make A EDIEM a standout.
Merik: Bass
The latest addition to A EDIEM , Merik has been playing bass since he was 15 years old. His early interests were in jazz and blues... but when it came to playing in bands, it's always been rock that appealed to him. Merik began a singer, and as his curiosity in music grew he expanded his skills to include the bass guitar. Merik has done session work for many local bands, mostly the indie scene. A few of his influences are Tool, Incubus, System of a Down, and Stanley Clark.
