While watching Video Music Box Pottz realized that if these boys could make it in music, so could he; and so marks the birth of the Thinkin Big movement.In 1997 Pottz partnered with two of his childhood friends, Charles Sawyer (aka Charlie) and Troy Morrison (aka TM) and began their journey to success as a three member hiphop group. Pottz played DJ and Charlie and TM became the writers and MCs of the group. Becoming a producer was a natural progression for Pottz. From spinning records to creating tracks Pottz always knew that his calling was to be the Man Behind the Music.After two months at the Institute of Audio Research (IAR) Pottz realized that formal education was not for him and that he thrives in an environment that allows him to get his hands dirty. Pottz believes in making his own path and lives by the principle that there are no rules for success. Choosing to forgo formal training Pottz withdrew from the program at IAR and opted instead to build his own recording studio and tap in to the minds of experienced music professionals in the business to develop his technical skills. Dubbed the Mad Scientist of the group, Pottz likes to mix and match those hard to find abstract samples with his own original composition.
