Who you jiving with that cosmic debris?

About Me

A lot can be learned of a person in the first few moments of meeting them by way they carry their eyes. Some meet the world with wide-eyed amazement; overs gaze reservedly at their feet, unsure of every step they make through life. There are those like myself that, like their fragile ocular recepetors, are hyper-sensitive to much of the stimuli of the world; they remain hidden and sustained behind protective darkness. Much like my eyes sheltered behind singlasses, I linger most often where it is safe and comfortable, letting down my guard when the injurious sun ( personified by those who seem all sunshine and good intentions but will only destory you in you get to close) pose no threat. Bottom line on that metaphor is that people can he harsh and unforgiving, but that is just their nature. So you must take precautions to ensure that you don't get hurt. All philosophical waxing aside, I'm twenty years old and have played the bass guitar for about six years now, my major influences being Les Claypool, Victor Wooten, Flea, Stanley Clarke and so forth. I openly admit and embrace my nerdom, which is ironically the "cool" thing to do these days. I enjoy rocking out, immersing myself in games, movies, and books, and art. It may seem like I say too much, and that most of it is a bit odd, but remember this - it is all that is left unsaid upon which tragedies are built.

My Interests

Music, art, literature, bass, gaming, Star Wars, mythology, food, sleeping, shenanigans, youthful indiscretions, GOOD BEER, philosophical waxing, existential banter.

I'd like to meet:

Anybody that has something interesting, provocative, prolific, original, artistic and heartfelt to say. There's too much of everybody trying to be like everybody else. Cliques are boring. Meet new people, interact, and LIVE dammit!

Music:

GENRES - metal, rock, blues, jazz, funk, bebop, reggae, classical, R&B (note: R&B is not rap. Marvin Gaye is R&B - talking/quasi-singing over a repetitive beat is not R&B. Don't be fooled by these frauds) Pretty much any form of music that exhibits technical musical knowledge as well as origininality. Ahh, then of course there is Zappa...BANDS - RUSH, Primus, Megadeth, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Minus the Bear, Jethro Tull, The Mars Volta, At the Drive In, Modest Mouse, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Tool, Tenacious D, Iron Maiden, The Beatles, King Crimson, Dave Matthews Band, Boston, Supertramp, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy - the litany goes on and on and on.MUSICIANS - Geddy Lee, Frank Zappa, Les Claypool, Victor Wooten, Steve Vai, SRV, Hendrix, Carter Beauford, that dude from Aphex Twin - once again it goes on and on and on.

Movies:

A Clockwork Orange, Full Metal Jacket, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, the STAR WARS trilogy, Requiem for a Dream , all of Quentin Tarantino's works, Natural Born Killers, all of the Coen Brothers works, anime, Snide and Prejudice, Lord of the Rings trilogy, High Fidelity, The Highlander, A River Runs Through It, Fight Club, The South Park Movie, American Beauty, film noir, - the list goes on and on and on.

Television:

Television rots the brain. I'll only watch select programs: the news, History/Discovery Channel, and South Park for a good dose of social satire.

Books:

Anything by Chuck Palahniuk, A Clockwork Orange (Anthony Burgess), Catch-22 (Joseph Heller), How to Take a Shit in the Woods, The Stand (Stephen King), historical books, medical studies, Shakespeare, Kafka, Dostoevsky, Terrence McKenna, Friedrich Nietzsche, Carl Jung.

Heroes:

Batman, myself, my true friends.
