About Me

The end is here...
Time of death: 03/09/08 1:30PM PST

Unfortunately The Sonority is no more. This site will remain as long as myspace stays free. I (Ron) will check it every once and a while. We love you guys...
Music. There is a lot of it out there, some good some bad. First and foremost The Sonority is a band of music lovers. They play rock music. They play a style of music that takes influence from classical music & traditional folk and combines it with modern hard rock & indie rock to form their own style.
Ron takes the lead as guitarist/singer/songwriter. He is a self-taught musician and this lends to a sort of raw potential and experimentation often lost on music theory gurus. Conor and Erin were both classically trained in the art of music theory and classical orchestration. Erin moved on to a more raw fiddling style in college while Conor sought out rock music learning the guitar and drums. Andy came late to the bass however he has kept a disciplined regiment of experimentation and bass theory making the instrument his first love. Will is the least experienced band member in music, literally learning misc. instruments and sampling to make The Sonority's sound more diverse. Live shows are where The Sonority really shine. With high energy and a true passion for the music they have been out building a fan base with their stage presence. Often times noted as being as energetic on stage as bands of harder, faster genres The Sonority takes pride in putting on a fun show.
The Sonority work hard everyday to make sure that every goblet of rock is filled to the brim and They intend to keep it that way.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: thesonority.com
Band Members:
Ron Leota - Vocals/Guitar

Andy Giesman - Bass/Screams

Erin Durdy - Violin/Vocals

Conor Durdy - Drums/Cello

Will Carson - Management/Samples/Vocals/Drums/Misc.

A few honorary members of the band because of there often times selfless contributions: Robin "Burt" Bolstad (band photographer and all around good guy!), Garrison (constant equipment loans and ninja music skills), Nathan "Scruffy" Reed (cover art and beard), Michelle Leota (literally coming to every show) and all our friends and family for coming to the shows, cheering us on, taking pictures and video.
Influences: We as people are all influenced by many things. It is hard to say what a band collectively is influenced by. So here's the best we can come up with:
Ron - A Perfect Circle, Breaking Benjamin, Ronnie James Dio & Deftones
Andy - Spineshank, Tool, Killswitch Engage & In Flames
Erin - Gia Consort, Lordi & Apocolyptica
Conor - Rage Against the Machine, Dropkick Murpheys & Not the Beatles
Will - Tori & NIN

Sounds Like: "The Sonority is an alternative-modern rock band with a really inventive sound. Good melodic vocals, mature sound that blends very well together."
-Quattro Driver

(Bands we may or may not sound like : A Perfect Circle, Apocolyptica, Breaking Benjamin, Gia Consort)
