Biography

Composed of four musicians (Sébastien Baril, Jean-Sébastien Defoy, Pierre-Alexandre Defoy and Mathieu Denis, Sahara Sunrise is the result of the musical evolution of two brothers and
passionate musicians who discovered music early in life. The band’s story began in the early 90’s, when Mathieu joined the Defoy brothers to interpret pop and rock classics: drums, guitars, bass guitar and keyboard. They enriched their own techniques and musical culture by spending much time listening and interpreting musical pieces within the different groups they were members of. The links that connected Jean-Sébastien,
Pierre-Alexandre and Mathieu determined the direction taken by Sahara Sunrise in the following months.
In 2006, Sébastien met Pierre-Alexandre fortuitously. The chemistry was there from thevery first. They decided to combine their experiences to create a project of their own.
Sebastien played the role of catalyst, bringing together four people who shared a common past and very similar musical roots. Sebastien, who is very determined, worked
relentlessly to fuse everyone’s talents into a single group. Sahara Sunrise became a group from within which each member could shine in his own way.
