1987 it began with a Fisher Price turntable and moms components set. The plan was to play as many records as possible without letting the music stop. at the age of 14 years old J SPIN was already becoming a legend with the music , well know for his pause mixing skill on the tape decks in middle school everyone wanted a tape of the late night mix show that J SPIN had put together with no commercials interruptions.
For years J SPIN had developed his name in the street from rapping, break dancing , graffiti, But music was where his heart was,, mixing at all the pool parties , basement parties, and birthday parties... J SPIN has done it all, now his is doing his thing in front of tens of thousand of fans... from basement parties to the US AIR ARENA.. from pool parties to MTV, from back yard cook-outs to ALLSTAR & SUPERBOWL weekend around the country ( DC,PHILLY , ATL, HOUSTON, LA, DENVER, BALTIMORE & MIAMI )...
1998 was the year that really introduced J SPIN to the public. He started filling in as the morning show dj on the Rand Dennis Show (Baltimore) doing the old school flash back mix. Soon after J SPIN was a house hold name commanding top dollar to work at all the top venues in Baltimore and metro area.. with his unique style of mixing old school with new school , J SPIN gained major respect from the underground djs along with the commercial djs as well, The passions for his craft in music is what make J SPIN stand out , His is genuine but sometimes like to break new records that he knows it'll be hot in a minute ,, If you have ever been in the tri state area you were sure to hear J SPIN on the radio or in the cars of thousands rocking to one of the hundred mix cds. " if you can work in Baltimore, I know you can make it anywhere " he tells a Baltimore news reporter. J SPIN mixed tapes has gained him much recognition giving listeners a wide range of Hip-Hop, R&B, and Reggae cds along with Club Music and House tracks. While holding down the mix tape and the radio, J SPIN is the proud owner of two of the longest running record stores in Baltimore. The only dj in the tri-state area that owns two music stores.
Now full-filling his dreams, we have only seen the beginning from the man who says his is so focused "... There is a lot more to come from a man who is destined to become a household name world wide... You can now here J SPINS on the air nationwide on XM satellite radio XM 67 THE CITY.
J SPIN face is a landmark in the music industry in Baltimore and the metro area selling mix tape at the world famous Patapsco Flea market in Baltimore For over eight years or at one of his two stores in West and south Baltimore... Every event he is there! J SPIN has toured or performed for multi-platinum artists such as The Big Tymers, Cash Money, Lil Wayne , Nelly & St. Lunatics, R Kelly , LL Cool J , Jermaine Dupri, P. Diddy, Method Man and Amerie. Currently, there is no dj in Baltimore or metro area more recognizable to the general public than J SPIN..
