We were formed in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia, by 1998. We named the band Blend Edges. Were four guys who play rock so noisy. Dadi sang and played guitar, both of Ogoy and Beben strummed guitars, and Willy drummed. No bass guitar (though Agan used to be the player for twice). The lyrics are English.
Blend Edges did some gigs in town. In 1999, the band released their first record, including 4-5 songs. This demo-taped was given away, not for sale. By the early of 2000, the band broke up. Each personal went busy.
In end of 2001, Dadi called Willy to reform the band. They took Ojel for playing bass. The trio went to studio. Then Ogoy joined the club, and Beben followed. The five guys started writing new stuffs. They changed the bands name: Superabundance.
Having new name is like having new thought and choice. WeSuperabundancewant to do something different than we did yesterdays. We dont play distorted guitars anymore. No more screaming-lungs. We guess the structure of the music is more mature and walks on the unpredictable ways. The sounds are cleaner now. Were preferred to be a lo-fi to experimental-noised thing.
We realize that our music seems not enough to go commercial for public definition, pop radio, and anyone who always thinks that beautiful music must be go on top chart or plugged in MTV.
Remember: we play music not for against the capitalism. We play cause we want to. No more, no less. And if anyone said that we enforce the independent movement or anything like that, we dont mind and we dont care. We just concern and care about music it self.
In th 2003 we recorded six songs. The first EP tittled Superciliousness of Her is released on the same year, by Hitheroad Records. The record includes Between and Middle, Man in the Morning Sound, Elusive Girl Impulsive Letter, And the World has a Yellow Streak, Heart of the Drum, and View of Squint.
On the May 2006, Superabundance is back on studio, creating some brand new songs. Hopefully, we could make a new full record by the end of the year.
Our big expectation is that the music we play is acceptable by anyone, any culture, any nation. That is it! Thanks 4 listening.
Enjoy.!!!!
