Are you having trouble with your MVI? Read this...
Are you getting the "Communicating to Server" error on your MVI? Follow these simple instructions to fix the problem.
Macintosh Instructions:
Quit the Avenged Sevenfold MVI application.
Navigate to the following folder on your Macintosh: Documents - Warner Music Group - Warner Bros. Records - Avenged Sevenfold
Locate and delete the folder called "Avenged Sevenfold"
Re-launch the Avenged Sevenfold MVI application
Re-register and activate your Avenged Sevenfold MVI
Select GET UPDATES NOW under the Get More! Menu.
Windows Instructions:
Quit the Avenged Sevenfold MVI application.
Navigate to the following folder on your PC:
My Documents..Warner Music Group..Warner Bros. Records..Avenged Sevenfold
Locate and delete the folder called "Avenged Sevenfold"
Re-launch the Avenged Sevenfold MVI application
Re-register and activate your Avenged Sevenfold MVI
Select GET UPDATES NOW under the Get More! Menu
You'll will see the little "content has been updated" message under the GET UPDATES NOW button once it has communicated with the server. You will also see that the two videos named The Making of Avenged Sevenfold and The Making of Avenged Sevenfold (Animated Short) are branded as "new". They are not actually new videos, but their names have changed. This NEW branding will disappear the next time you use the MVI.

Shreddy, set....GO!
Zacky and Cam Rackam recently decided to collaborate on a very cool project for charity...so taken directly from Cam Rackams site in his own words...
"Shreddy is a one of a kind Guitar. Not only a piece of art but a brilliantly designed and well constructed working guitar. The actual color is slightly more purple, but Zacky didnt want to obstruct the rest of the colors by changing the photo. All of the hardware is exclusivly taken from the Vengence Standard Platinum Model, except the pic guard which Schecter custom fabricated a clear version for us, so the graphic isn't obstructed. There are many Zacky Vengence Graphics on the front of the guitar and the back has a more Cam Rackam image based. All of the paint has a low mix of metal flake in it giving the guitar a metallic reflection.
Shreddy will be on display at the South Of Heaven Art Show in Costa Mesa, Ca on Oct 20. He will then be auctioned for charity on ebay shortly after, and a portion of the proceeds will go the yellow ribbon fund. A charity that supports injured veterans, that dont get proper aid when they return home. Many of our friends and family served and weve been very lucky to have all of them return, so this is an important charity for us personally.

On Saturday, October 20th Avenged Sevenfold will be taking over The Key Club in Hollywood to perform a free show for all our SoCal fans. This will be a once in lifetime opportunity to see A7X in such a small, intimate setting. You don't get many chances like this! Be sure to wear your Halloween costume as we'll be giving away prizes for some of the best ones! This was gonna be first come first serve, but the city of Los Angeles wasn't prepared to have thousands of A7X fans invading the Sunset Strip!
So, here is how you get in- Send an email to [email protected] before 9am PST on October 15th (only one entry per person will be considered). We'll then hold a lottery to determine who will be added to the list. Check your email on October 18th to see if your one of the lucky few that get to go to this show!
You must be 15 years or older to attend the Key Club show. And you better believe you ain't gettin' in if you don't wear your costume (if you're wearing a mask make sure it's removable when you check in)! Send your emails with your full name and email address to [email protected] before 9am PST on October 15th. This is a must see event! M. SHADOWS TALKS DVD
This DVD has been 8 years in the making. We didn't want to cheat the fans by putting out a standard live DVD. Instead we wanted to focus on giving back to our fans by showing them what makes 5 best friends from Huntington Beach eat, sleep and breathe the Avenged Sevenfold lifestyle. This DVD shows everything from life backstage on the bus to some of the first shows in our hometown. We didn't leave anything off that fans have been asking about for all these years. Unlike cookie-cutter concert DVD's this is a documentary you can watch again and again.

The fact that the band wanted to do something special with ALL EXCESS shouldn't come as a surprise when you consider that despite the band's success, A7X have never remade the same album twice; instead, they tirelessly continue to reinvent themselves and push their creative limits. Starting with Avenged Sevenfold's humble beginnings in Huntington Beach, California, ALL EXCESS documents how this group of five social outcasts met in elementary school and quickly became not only bandmates but also best friends. From touring in a cramped van and playing underground shows to headlining arenas and touring with their musical heroes Metallica (which was documented when M. "We're at the point where we've come into our own," vocalist M. Shadows says of the ambitious City Of Evil, an 11-song collection that gives a middle finger to the idea of categorization, bridging the sonic guitar assault of Iron Maiden with the frenetic pace of Bad Religion and the musicianship of Dream Theater. "In Southern California, you're really brought up in the whole punk world. At the same time, we grew up listening to Pantera, Megadeth, Metallica, and Slayer records," Shadows recalls. "You think you want to play in a certain kind of band, but that moment passes and you find yourself writing music that just comes out naturally. We're definitely not afraid to put anything in our songs if we think it calls for it."


Avenged Sevenfold produced a perfect metal moment live during the orchestral interlude in "The Wicked End," complemented by a boys choir and 14-piece string section that melds their intensity with a musical daring their hard rock forefathers would be proud of. Those looking primarily for a cathartic release live only need turn to the ferocious energy of "Bat Country," a song written for Hunter S. Thompson about the band's adventures in Las Vegas.


As with their live show, City Of Evil goes well beyond conventional hard rock. The band throws in a beautiful Flamenco guitar solo near the end of the savage "Sidewinder," and the record bursts with displays of their stellar musicianship, from the intricate tempo changes of "Burn It Down" to the tender acoustic intro of a Spaghetti Western mixed with classical melody that provides the calm before the storm in the savage "Strength Of The World."


All of the success the band is enjoying means a lot to the five members because they've worked hard to get to this point. "We've seen bands that we started out with that got a bit of a head start or an early break, and they're done now. We've learned so much more doing it from the ground up. We've had so many more good times and bad times. It has made us stronger as a band," Vengeance says.


Hard work is what also accounts for the Avengeds fiercely loyal following, according to Shadows. "It's rewarding to know we have a really solid core fan base that believes in us and our music, and sees Avenged Sevenfold as a lifestyle," he says. "We don't ever fall because our fans are holding us up, and that cant just get pulled out from underneath us. It's very gratifying to be at this place now."


Trivia

-The band was formed in 1999 while its members were still in high school.


-Sounding the Seventh Trumpet was recorded in 2001 by Good life Records when the band members were only 19 years old.

-When Synyster Gates joined the band the intro song "To End The Rapture" was re-recorded with Gates playing and the album was re-released by Hopeless Records.


-Waking the Fallen was release 2 years later on August 26, 2003 in which Rolling Stones gave it a positive rating. June 7, 2005 City of Evil was released.


-The band was signed by Warner Brothers shortly before City of Evil was recorded.


-From The City of Evil album "Bat Country" hit the #1 spot on U.S Mainstream Rock.


-The band recieved the 2006 MTV award for best new artist in a video for "Bat Country".


-The bands much anticipated 4th album is expected to be released in late October 2007.


-A7X have left behind a trail of offended, shocked and unimpressed music fans and musicians. At one stop on the '05 Warped tour concert goers messed with the bands rock star m.o, wearing homeade t-shirts that read "A7X told us to bring girls"


-Everytime I Die Singer Keith Buckley describes glammy images as a form of "lying" and singled out A7X presentation as "a total front".


-Greg Pirciato of Math-Metal Titans-Dillinger Escape Plan haved deemed A7X as a "terrrible band" and called the O.C. crew "assholes" and accusing them of the deadly sin of pride. Noting that "this scene is based on Humility".


-The guys never drink or take drugs the day of a show, don't party when they are recording, and never blow off important business appointments.

M. Shadows aka Matthew Charles Sanders is the lead singer for the Band Avenged Sevenfold. He is one of the original founders of the band which was formed while he was still in high school. His original background in music was deeply engrained in the metalcore of the West Coast. He lists his influences as Guns N' Roses, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth, and Pantera. His screaming influence is Philip Anselmo of Pantera. He is a former member of the punk band "Successful Failure".
Matt had minor throat surgery done to repair a vocal strain. The strain was caused the large amount of screaming in the first album Sounding the Seventh Trumpet. He did not undergo surgery to repair a rupture or torn vocal cord(s).
Matt is a very strong support of the American troops overseas. Thus the reason why he wrote the song MIA. He however stresses that the band is not political or protest band. They do not plan on becoming one either.
Interesting tid bits

-Matt has said that he spends up to 8 hours a day, seven days a week, writing songs.


-Matt has a younger sister.


-Matt is featured on the Good Charlotte song "The River".


-Matt's grill cost $8000.00 and it's made of platnium and diamonds. It was made in Atlanta, GA.

Matt's Teenaged Misadventures

Matt and undisclosed others broke into a school and started small fires-it got out of control-"We were like shit!" "We got to go now!" "As we were leaving we heard all these fire engines. We got on top of one of my friends roof and watched the whole school burn to the ground."


Matt got into a brawl with guys from a rival neighborhood and ended up spending the night in jail for assaulting a cop. These dudes were throwing bottles at us and then there car got caught in a cul-de-sac. So I ran up with a whole can full of bottles and smashed in their front window. Then I threw brass nuckles through the back window. The neighbors thought the sound was gunshots and called the police. So we ran through the park. These cops on motorcyles pulled up with guns out and yelled "get down!" and me being an antagonistic fuck said what the fucks the problem officer? So a cop kicks me in the back of the leg and shoves me down. I got up and hit him. then he hit me. So I grabbed him by the throat. Finally all the cops with guns put me in fucking hand cuffs and one of them cracks me in the back of the head with a maglite. That's the reason I didn't spend time in jail because he hit me and I had proof.

.. Zacky Vengance aka Zachary James Baker plays rhythm guitar for Avenged Sevenfold. He co-founded the band with M. Shadows while the two were still in high school. Zacky says there are just to many bands to list that has influenced him. His musical tastes range from punk to rap. He still loves the heavy bands though. Zacky also played in a punk band called MPA.Zacky has played guitar since he was 13 years old and was self taught. Zacky has a unique style when it comes to his hair. He has had many different and sometimes unique styles throughout his career. He also has a very unusual taste for large sunglasses. On December 19, 2005 Zacky started his clothing business--Zacky V. Presents--Vengeance University label. Included in his designs are t-shirts, belt buckles, hats, and hoodies all including his logo 6661. If he had not decided to be in a band he would have persued a career as a professional baseball player.Zacky is of Italian and German descent. .. Synyster Gates aka Brian Elwin Haner Jr. is the lead guitarist for Avenged Sevenfold. He is well known for his fedora hat. He is the son of Brian Haner Sr. a country guitarist/stand-up comedian/official accustic guitar player for A7X who is often referred to as Papa Gates.Synyster joined A7X in 1999, before the release of Sounding the Seventh trumpet. He was originally in a punk band called Pinkly Smooth with Drummer The Rev. Pinkly Smooth was disbanded because Synyster and The Rev wanted to devote all their time to A7X.Synyster attended The Muscians Institute in Hollywood, California as part of the GIT program. He studied Jazz guitar citing Django Reinhardt as a major influence. Synyster cites Dimebag Darrell of Pantera,Damage Plan, Slash of Guns N' Roses, Velvet Revolver, and John Petrucci, Dream Theater as his guitar influences.Synyster has been named guitarist of the year by "Total Guitar Magazine". .. Johnny Christ aka Johnathan L. Seward is the bassist for Avenged Sevenfold. He joined the band in 2002 when he was 18 years old. They found him through Zackys younger brother. He followed 2 other bassist which were Justin Sane (1999-2001) and Dameon Ash (2001-2002).Johnny is not only the youngest member of Avenged Sevenfold but he is the shortest standin tall at 5'4". He is well know for wearing his hair in a mohawk style with punk colors. He is nicknamed the yard knome. He would love to be a cowboy but unfortunately he is afraid of horses. He has a cowboy tattoo on his neck.Misadventures of JohnnyWe have a term for Johnny. We call him the cross-eyed drunk. He gets so drunk that any other on of us or any normal human being would pass out and get sick. But his body will never make him pass out. So he never has to stop. But he is not conscious at all and he is just doing the most unspeakable things. Hell just sit there barely able to move, pouring more and more alcohol into his mouth. -as told by The Rev-Johnny's comedy hour- It involved Christ drinking himself silly. Then engaging in inpromptu stand-up comedy while his band mates egged him on. He walked on the bus, puked, then stripped down naked. and did stand-up. When he could barely talk. We had a $500.00 cleaning bill the next day and we were laughing our asses off. There is one point where he goes to his bunk and tries to pass out, then gets pulled out and it looks like a dead body being dragged across the floor. .. The Rev aka The Reverend Tholomew Plague aka James (Jimmy) Owen Sullivan is the drummer for Avenged Sevenfold. He started playing the drums when he was 10 years old and his first record was released when he was 18 years of age.The Rev and Synyster Gates formed a band called Pinkly Smooth that is currently on hold so they can focus on Avenged Sevenfold full time. In Pinkly Smooth The Rev's stage name was Rat Head. He sang in the band and played drums. The Rev was also in another band called Third-Wave Ska band Suburban Legends. He was in the band with the former Avenged Sevenfold bassist Justin Sane.The Rev's favorite bands are the Transplants and Rancid. He sites his influences as being Vinnie Paul of Pantera, Dave Lombardo, Paul Bastaph of Slayer, and Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater.The Rev is currently engaged to Leana Silver, girlfriend of 2 years. She is known in the porn world as Teen Topanga. They both have tattoos on their ring finger. I tell you, you never appreciate anything more than when you get out of jail.He was kicked out of the 2nd grade in Catholic School. He attended the School with M.
