About Me
Formed in December of 2006 by drummer Jordan Marsengill and singer/guitarist Neil Davis, Sephirias quickly rose the ranks in the local music scene as a breath of fresh air in metal. Originally featuring Jacob Wilson on bass and Kevin Fowler on rythm guitar, the band placed second at their first show, the HCHS Battle of the Bands after only four months of playing together. Soon after, Sephirias recruited bassist Brad Holland, formerly of Prominent Soul. Within months, the band played many big name venues, including the Masquerade, and made a name for themselves in the progressive metal genre, all while every member was enrolled in high school.
During the early part of 2008, Fowler left the band amicably and continued on with his band, punk rockers, ROBO. Sephirias recruited guitarist Dalton Dodd, putting the "classic" lineup into place. During this time, the band entered into Pig Pen Studios on Athens, Georgia to record their first and only EP, "Beneath the Burial Shroud". Featuring the title track, "Smoke and Mirrors", "Monolith" and their flag ship track, "City of Ghosts", the EP quickly became a favorite amongst fans, with only 100 copies pressed.
Following almost three years of consistantly playing shows and building a dedicated following, the lineup of the band consisting of Davis, Marsengill, Holland and Dodd parted ways, with Davis and Holland continuing on in progressive metal band Nightlore, and Marsengill and Dodd in southern metal band Southern Incarceration.
After months of other projects, rumors begin to circulate that Sephirias would be reforming for Habersham Central's Battle of the Bands. Soon after, it was announced via the website that the band would indeed reunite for the one off show. Featuring the key lineup of the band, Sephirias will play a 30 minute set 5th of the night with many of their live favorites being shown off once again on the stage that birthed the band in the beginning over two years ago.
