Jean-Michel’s affinity with music began at the age of 6 while he was studying piano and violin. As this young Parisian grew, his talent and ambition did as well. By the time he reached adolescence, he was accomplished on a wide array of musical instruments. Music soon became his refuge and it was music that gave him solace. Many of Jean-Michel's teachers began to see his bright potential, and at age 14 he was encouraged to attend La Sorbonne in Paris. Upon graduation from La Sorbonne, he attended Le Conservatoire National De Paris for a more technically advanced music education. It was here the young pianist/violinist began studying music composition under the tutelage of Mademoiselle Totems. Studying at Le Conservatoire with many influential musicians, Jean-Michel discovered hi With this beginning, Jean-Michel began to make an influence on the international pop music scene. As a signed staff composer for Rocket Music, owned by Elton John, Danton’s songs were in demand with artists such as Mike Brophy, George Michael, Roger Daltrey, and Stephane Boyd. Danton, also was a member of the French pop group Passion, for which he wrote and produced two hit singles in France in the 1980’s. The next decade in Jean-Michel’s career would be filled with new creative endeavors, as he teamed up with Roy Robinson for the re-formation of the European rock group Titanic. With Jean composing/arranging, orchestrating, and performing as a keyboardist, this dynamic duo recorded two albums. Jean-Michel toured extensively throughout Europe from 1990 to 1995. During this five-year tour with Titanic, Jean-Michel Danton turned his attention to another passion…scoring soundtracks for television and motion pictures. Danton moved to America in 1996 to compose and arrange with record producer Mike Piccirillo. Danton and Piccirillo have been partners on several musical projects for TV and movies. Jean-Michel Danton has scored music for DIC/Disney, TNT, TBS, PAX, the History Channel, M6, Lions Gate, MGM, Sci-fi Channel, Powerhouse Net, and French Channel TFI. After many years of doing compositions for numerous cartoons, films, and commercials, Jean-Michel Danton began to focus anew on his solo career, with his musical vision for a new type of live show in mind. Jean-Michel Danton has evolved from classical to pop, pop to rock, and rock to electronica. Currently, Jean-Michel is writing a concept album for a theme concert based upon Fritz Lang’s Metropolis, entitled “Metropolis Revivedâ€. s gift for piano and music composition.
