Having lived in Japan, I'm into Japanese pop culture. Like to know what's been going on there recently. I like anime to an extent, but I'm no otaku; I've been more into manga lately. I like watching movies -- my record was 30-something at the movie theaters in one year. I've somehow managed to see every movie that's won the Best Picture Oscar, but three -- they're all kind of a blur now; I can no longer distinguish between what happened in Gone With the Wind and Return of the King.
I've noticed these days I'm only listening to what's playing on Live105. Used to listen to more J-pop when I was working for a Japanese company, so that I could sing karaoke with the Japanese. Speaking of karaoke, I've been told I do a sick Eminem rap.
If I have to list stuff, the Beatles, U2, Guns n Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Green Day, Eminem, Linkin Park, Nirvana, Southern All Stars, Mr Children, mid-era L'Arc en Ciel, Orange Range (dont ask). I also highly recommend the Cowboy Bebop soundtrack.
Star Wars (the "first" three), Indiana Jones, the Matrix, the Godfather, Pulp Fiction, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Lost in Translation, Lord of the Rings trilogy, Hitchcock, Hayao Miyazaki, David Lean, Kurosawa, Spielberg, Pixar
Lost, Heroes, The Office, 24, the Sopranos, Deadwood, Six Feet Under, Entourage, CSI, Mythbusters, the Apprentice, Friends, Seinfeld, old Simpsons, Beavis and Butthead, Star Trek TNG and DS9, whatever happens to be on while working away on the elliptical
Full Metal Alchemist, 20th Century Boys, Bleach, DeathNote, Gundam the Origin, Fist of the North Star, Dragonball, I notice now I'm not very culturally literate
