Korben UK is a DJ and organiser of techno and house parties in the south of Holland. He co-founded the techno collective 'Underground Invasion' in 1998. In 2006 he teamed up with DJ Rascal to create the 'In Bloom' clubnight in De Effenaar(Eindhoven). His latest project 'Hotshade' consists of bringing together talented artists that have proven to be extremely dedicated to the partyscene. Making a new statement for future musical expression.
Underground Invasion was initially a collective of techno DJ’s and producers. They created their own parties Korben: “We took our parties very seriously. Once we organised a party in an abandoned farm some 10 km from town. The farm was turned into a quality club with bar staff, doormen, a light technician, a sound technician. Techno in Area 1, Drum and Bass in area 2 and a chill out area with sofa’s and a cocktail bar in a ridiculous big army tent outside”.
Many where attracted to this quality underground scene. New friends where made, inspiration was shared and in the background the turntables never ceased to spin. The succes resulted in the founding of the Fuss Bookings Agency.
After 4 years of organising events and performing at festivals and venues, Korben took a short break that ended up lasting 2 years. “It was a great time, but it was also a very hectic period. I have a family to take care of, we all had day time jobs and the weekends were 100% Underground Invasion.”.
When Korben met DJ Rascal in 2005, he was inspired by his enthusiasm. Rascal organised dance events and persuaded Korben to pick up DJ-ing again. After performing together at some local events, they noticed that they had the same ideas about what a good party should look like. Together they created “In Bloom club night” in ‘De Effenaar, Eindhoven. Currently they are the residents of this two monthly event. In Bloom doesn’t focus on one musical scene in particular. The nights contain a mix of (Tech)House, Minimal, Techno, Electro and Break beats: www.feelinginbloom.nl.
Korben UK is resident DJ at the In Bloom club night in De Effenaar. He has co-organised and played at Virus Festival, Dynamo Queensday Festival, and The Farm.
He has also played at venues/party's like: De Rechter, Zodiak Commune, Orkapot, Spink Festival, Edit Festival, The Zoo (Belgium), Awkwrd, Club Friends, Landerd Pop, Villa Onkruid, Club Yes, Zig Zag, De Bosuil and De Groene Engel.
