About Me

DBG. Defined by greatness. "I make music to represent the realness. The reality. The individuals not living for the moment, but through the moment." If a person feels like they're just surviving, just making it. They can relate to DBG. I try not to alienate any of my audience, because I feel as an artist your music has to reach as well as teach others. Help others understand and hopefully embrace (I use that term loosely) the environment or lifestyle that you come from or represent. I have just started to see my purpose, speak for the ones too quiet to talk. All my life people made me feel like I had to earn my keep or I wasn't good enough. With growth you change that and raise your own standards. I set the tone for individalism, be it musically or whatever. One thing I do, make sure is to show people how to not to capitalize off of personal negativity, focus on your good qualities to promote gain, Don't focus on your past wrongs or lifestyle to showcase you. Represent and market your present and your future.

Influences: I think for so long I've been influenced by the wrong things in life. At this point... I influence myself. I'm my own motivation. The original "go-getta" But to get me to that point it took a lil' of everybody. Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke, Big Pokey (Hardest Pit In Da Litter), H.A.W.K., Master P, 50 Cent, Nas, Jay-Z, Phil Collins, Ronnie Spencer, Big Moe, DJ Screw, Bun-B's grind and work ethic, ESG (early years), LL Cool J's longevity, and probably some that your favorite rappers look up to.
Sounds Like: Nobody but myself. I'm your favorite rapper's favorite rapper!

Pure and Uncut: Use Gloves Please!

Hate: The Sincerest Form of Flattery

"Haters love when you're down." Great hook, even greater song. R.I.P. Hawk. This is something we go through everyday. It's a staple of life, not just in music, but every aspect. Some of the greatest ...

Studio Gangstas: One @ A Time Please

Why as artists do we feel the need for facades? If you a real person shouldn't that be "hood" enough or "gangsta" to the streets? Why manufacture your realness. I wasn't shot 9 times or done bids for...
