About Me

Shameka Brice aka Brown-Rice began her career at the age of 10, singing background and studio session vocals for a wide range of producers and artists. Introducing a sound of pure soul, adding a delicious flavor to hip-hop and R&B. In November 97, Shameka began writing for an independent European Label named "SKILLZ" (Amsterdam, Holland). In early 1998 she released a compilation Album in Japan Entitled " Bounce To This ", 3 singles from the album (Man of Steel, Try Love, & Reasons) were hits throughout Europe and Japan. Due to battling a dreaded illness for many years, Shameka had to take a few years off from her music career to take care of her health, she has since fought this illness and won, today she is fully recovered. Shameka has set her sites once again on making her mark in the world of music she loves so much. She has begun performing in Jazz CafÃ©'s & R&B Venues in and around her hometown of Springfield, Mass, and all throughout New England. Brown-Rice is loved by all who are true lovers of soul music, she recreates the memories of yesterdays R&B Soul & Jazz mixed with today's urban sounds and production. Brown-Rice has a world of experience behind her, and gives you a taste of the young girl that has blossomed into a beautiful woman.
