About Me

Saxophonist Andrew Gould is from Long Island, New York. He is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in Jazz Performance at Manhattan School of Music and he holds a Bachelors Degree from Purchase College where he received the James Moody Scholarship. He has previously studied with Steve Wilson, Jon Gordon, Jimmy Greene, Dave Brandom, Dave Pietro, Gary Smulyan, and Javon Jackson. He has performed onstage with James Moody, Kenny Barron, Paquito D'Rivera, Jon Faddis, John Riley, Ray Vega, Todd Coolman, Renee Rosnes and many others. He has performed at Alice Tully Hall-Lincoln Center, Smoke Jazz Club, Yoshis (San Fransisco), B.B. Kings, Joes Pub, The Bitter End, Live on WBGO Radio and for regional theater productions of the musicals Swing, Anything Goes and Smokey Joes Cafe. Andrew was recently selected as a finalist in the Generations Jazz Competition/Workshop. He continues to play various gigs around New York as well as teach private saxophone lessons. He has been on faculty at both the Purchase College and Friends of the Arts Summer Jazz Programs as a teacher/counselor.
