About Me

If been playing the guitar for the past 15 years and have had a wealth of experience in many styles and band situations.
Early Years
I began as a blues purist (which is still engrained in me) for about two years and moved to finger picking style when I discovered Tommy Emmanual. In 1995 I learnt every chilli peppers song on blood sugar and became a die hard funk player until in my final year of high school I studied classical guitar exclusively, of which I had never played before.
Studying Music
At 17 I was accepted into the Bachelor of Contemporary Music course at Southern Cross University in Lismore NSW. I followed suit of most of the players at the school and became a massive jazz snob! Hahaha. I was introduced for the first time to fusion music and fell in love with John Scofield, Robben Ford, Bill Frisell, John Abercrombie, Pat Methany etc etc.. if you’re a guitar player you know the guys I’m talking about.
Post Uni
After University I lived in Sydney and Newcastle. I played the Newcastle and Sydney circuit in both originals and funk and rock covers for 5 years, playing an assortment of venues. I also privately taught guitar for 4 years with which I had over 20 regular students.
Moving to Melbourne
It was in 2005 I moved to Melbourne to further peruse my music career. Forming a band "Gosper" with fellow ex-Novacastrian Nick Gosper, we gigged heavy in 2006. In 2007 we reformed under the name Class Trip which had a hectic but short lived lifespan.
Where am I now?
My main project currently is a Hiphop Soul crew, featuring ex-Fizard vocalist Adam King. I'm also playing lead for Bryony Morgan's alternate blues project and the reggue outfit Quinn Band.
