Chrysanthemum Blue is singer/bassist/guitarist, Melissa O'Connor. It was originally formed in 2001 with her best friend Hernan Feraci. Since the old recordings they havent written music together so for the past couple years Melissa has been writing solo. She now resides in Long Island and continues to write and record whenever inspiration comes her way.
Bass has been her instrament of choice since 1995 but also plays acoustic guitar, keyboard, drums and a little harmonica for the hell of it. She was the bass player for the band Random (later became Six to Eight Mathematics) for about 4 years. They played shows in Jersey and New York and put out two albums, Access Memory and Drive.
"Music is my life and I always try to incorporate it in everything I create. Being an artist I always find new ways to communicate my thoughts whether it be through design, film or a song. Writing music is simply a means of expression. Most of my songs are about love and relationships and the down side of life. Im almost always inspired by people and experiences and once my emotions start to flow so do the words.....and then the tunes. I just want people to listen..not judge.
