About Me

Andy studied guitar privately for seven years under Frank Koonce, Professor of Classical Guitar at Arizona State University, and then went on to receive his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees at the Peabody Conservatory of Music, studying on merit scholarship under Nathaniel Gunod and Julian Gray. He has performed with the Peabody Symphony Orchestra, with an Annapolis Orchestra, for the Arizona and Baltimore Classical Guitar Societies, on D.C. public radio station WAVA, and has toured with vocal artist Steve Green, in addition to playing numerous regular concerts in the Mid-Eastern U.S. through Artists Representation International. Andy is on the guitar faculty at the Levine School of Music and runs a private studio from his home. He has taught guitar at Anne Arundel Community College for eight years, and has also taught guitar as part of the Arts Academy at Trinity Assembly of God, for Fretboard Fellowship, and for General Wolfe Elementary School (as part of an outreach program for the Peabody Conservatory). Andy was listed as an Honored Professional in the 2002 Edition of National Registers Who's Who in Executives and Professionals. He has given lectures at the Baltimore Classical Guitar Society and the Levine School of Music. In 1999, Andy produced his first solo guitar CD, "Chimaera," featuring seven of his own compositions which he later published through Desert Shadows Publishing in 2004.
