The Mischief Engine

About Me

At the 2004 Berlin International Film Festival, The Ministry of Sound Germany attended a screening of an Australian feature film about a rock band.

The film's writer/director (Stuart McBratney) and The Ministry of Sound's A & R Executive (Chi-Thien Nguyen aka Chopstick) clicked instantly.

4 ½ years later, the pair have combined forces with Aussie singer Troy Menywether and Canadian MC Cadilac G, and are putting the finishing touches on their debut album.

'Soul Delay' by The Mischief Engine isn't world music, but the album's 4 contributors stem from a variety of cultures including Australia, Germany, Vietnam, Macedonia, Belgium, Canada and the UK.

The album name "Soul Delay" is a reference to William Gibson's book 'Pattern Recognition'. The phrase is used to describe jet lag.
