After an afternoon of hiking towards the highest point of a small Thai island protruding from the Andaman Sea, I stopped to breathe and refuel at a random path side Gatorade stand. I bought the only flavor the woman had for the equivalence of 30 cents American, smiled with a bowed head and continued on. The bizarre realization that there was indeed Gatorade in the lush vegetation of these South Pacific cliffs lingered only briefly, as the citrus hues of sunset reached through my eyes and the salt perfume of ocean breeze filled my lungs quenching my parched traveling spirit and refueling my desires for adventure and open road.I was born with cravings for adventure. In 22 years I have backpacked through Europe on a shoestring, made a home of a Swiss Chalet and a Ski Village in the Alps, dined with the King of Afghanistan inside palace walls, attended Knights Templar ceremonies hosted by German royalty, and most recently sat atop the South Pacific Ocean with a Gatorade and a smile, knowing the world is intricately intertwined and mine for the taking.
