PROBLEM 13 was born on the south side of Chicago to a Cuban mother and a Jamaican father. At the age of 14 – Coolie Rock, as he was known then, left Chicago and relocated to Miami to live with his grandmother in Little Havana. He immediately hooked up with the neighborhood thugs, and started running in the streets of Miami. It didn’t take long for Coolie Rock to discover the ’Hood’, the notorious and treacherous section of Miami called "Liberty City" and there is where he met Wayne Force, Money D and The Click Sixx Staff.Wayne Force along with DJ Money D, who worked at "SKD Records" recording studio in Miami Lakes (now known as "Studio Center") gave Coolie Rock the platform to sharpen his skills as an MC. A few years later, Coolie Rock found himself behind prison walls serving time on a drug charge (posession with intent to distribute). Upon his return to the streets of Miami, Coolie Rock decided to focus on his music and rocking shows as an MC. For the next 5 years Coolie Rock terrorized the mic and he became a force to be reckoned with. Opening up shows for artists such as: Biggie Smalls, KRS One, Black Moon, Foxy Brown and Red Head King Pin. Coolie Rock became Miami’s underground battle king – never losing a battle.After taking a small hiatus from the rap game Problem 13 mentally & artistically buried Coolie Rock and resurfaced as Miami’s infamous Problem 13. Coolie Rock was all about viciously terrorizing and ripping the mic and battling, however, Problem 13 matured and is all about getting money.PROBLEM 13 is the tightest, most underrated MC in Miami; just check for yourself, he has posted 4 songs from his mixtapes, along with the new club banger "Booty Videos" which will be released on legendary 2 Live Crew DJ Mr. Mixx forthcoming CD and a ruff mix of "A Basilar" Problem 13’s first single from his forthcoming CD "Many Faces" The local industry big shots refuse to acknowledge him or show him any love. When asked why? He simply replies: "real niggas and fake niggas can’t co exist...i’m too real fo these niggas...but they can’t stop my swagga...Problem 13’s day is coming, getting love from coast to coast already. Problem 13 has been representing Hip Hop in Miami all of his life. From battling and rippin MCs on the corners, to winning every talent show he has ever been in, to sharing the same stage with some of the biggest names in the game.In 2000 Problem 13 was signed to local Indie label called Lockin It Down Records. In 2001 under the group name "Southern Affiliate" he produced and released the CD "Affiliate ", which received excellent reviews in the streets, particularly the songs " Hustle Hard " & " Livin In Poverty " which was also on the soundtrack of Indie film company Miami Films’ movie " 2 Sides Of Life ", and lastly " Dance Muthafucka " which has become a local hood classic and still gets played today by underground DJs through out the city; Having the financial backing from his closest friend Wise Dread, Problem 13 released his first mixtape in 2005, “Running For Mayor†vol 1 with the Bash Bros.PROBLEM 13 produced and mixed all of his songs from his first mixtape ’Running For Mayor’ Vol. 1 which sold over 5000 in the streets before recording, mixing, and releasing "Running For Mayor" Vol. 2 "Hustle & Flow" Edition, which sold close to 10,000, in the streets and thru the internet. He just hooked up wit DJ Mr. Mixx from the legendary 2 Live Crew. They are in the studio finishing up the new album "MANY FACES". Everyone involved in the project is very excited, and have great expectations."People only know DJ Mr. Mixx from the 2 Live stuff, but thats not the only type of trax that he makes.
