About Me

Writer and surfer dude in Bali, where I was born and raised and live with my family. My first novel, THE FLAME TREE (Simon and Schuster) was published in 2004. It's a story about an American boy in Java, who is best friends with a Muslim village boy, set against the backdrop of 9/11. My second novel, THE KILLING SEA: A Novel of the Tsunami (S&S), was released in December 2006. Film rights to that one have been sold to Fox 2000 and Scott Free Productions. Those novels are YA, but readers of all ages will love them.A donation of my royalties for KILLING SEA is going through personal contacts to help needy families in Aceh still falling through the cracks.
