Suicide
Dr Rob Hicks
Some people who attempt suicide want to die and are successful, while others wish to draw attention to a problem they have. Unfortunately, there have been incidents when the attempts of those who wish to only draw attention to their plight have become accidentally fatal.
Cutting your self (slitting your wrists, Ect.):It's like any other addiction, Either you die, go insane or you quit. So you need to Quit!
In public interviews he noted how in 1998 for every two homicides in the U.S. there were three suicides. Since 1952, the incidence for adolescents and young adults has nearly tripled, and 90% of these cases were due to guns. Each day 86 Americans take their own lives and another 1,500 attempt to do so.
egoistic: perhaps the most prevalent form in the United States, is the result of too little social integration, such as the suicide of a retired elderly widower;
altruistic: the consequence of excessive integration, such as deaths of a Japanese kamikaze pilot during World War II or the self-sacrifice of an Indian suttee, where a widow throws herself upon her husband's funeral pyre;
anomic: results from too little regulation or the shattering of one ties with society, such as with divorce or unemployment;
fatalistic: this form is the result of excessive regulation coupled with high personal needs to control one's environment, as when a highly motivated college student takes his own life upon failing a critical exam.
It may be that one reason you are depressed, is because of things that have been done to you by other people, which have hurt you inside very much. If this has happened, there is one way to release the power that those things have over you. It is to forgive those who have hurt you! It may be very difficult. Maybe you can only do it with God's help. But it can set you free from the past.
And if you have hurt other people, ask them to forgive you. Speak to them, or write to them today! Also find out how God can forgive you...

What are the symptoms?
If a person survives their suicide attempt, the symptoms that result depend upon the method of attempted suicide, for example, broken bones, cuts and wounds, and internal organ damage.

Many people also feel guilty and ashamed about what they have done. If an underlying mental health problem has triggered the attempt then symptoms of this illness may become worse.

Who is likely to attempt/commit suicide?
More young people attempt suicide, but more elderly people die from an attempt. Women attempt suicide three times more than men but more men die from an attempt. This is because men are more likely to use methods that have a greater potential to kill.
In the UK, suicide rates in men and women are currently falling.
Most suicides are associated with an underlying mental health illness, such as depression. In older people, social isolation, chronic illness, and depression may also increase the risk of suicide.

People who threaten suicide should always be taken seriously and offered help!
People who threaten suicide should always be taken seriously and offered help. Vigilance and support of those at risk can help prevent suicide. For example, it has been found that many teenagers who attempt suicide will die through suicide within a few years, so help should be offered at the earliest signs.

Treatment
Admission to hospital enables treatment of any physical problems related to the suicide. Treatment of underlying mental health problems may involve counselling and drugs.
Support and help in addressing the social and emotional problems that have lead to the suicide attempt should be provided.
