~The Biggest Misconception!!!~ The biggest lie we have been led to believe is that we are able to have what we naturally want & please God at the same time. We are lying to ourselves by accepting this as a truth. The mere fact we think we can do our dirt and serve God at the same time is ridiculous. We are born with a sinful nature and MUST turn from it if we ever expect to live w/ our Father in heaven. Some people believe they can indulge in sex, smoke, drink, & go to clubs but as long as they really “love” God or go to church they will be saved from torment. Please don’t be fooled! “For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws and it never will. That’s why those who are under the control of the sinful nature can never please God” Romans 8:7~8. You see it is intentional we are led to believe we can do what we love and still be a disciple of Christ. Do not be fooled! “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross and follow me” Mark 8:34. You see we are so blinded by lies and thinking that we can curse & slander people & make sex songs on 14 tracks then song #15 is a gospel song, and give thanks to “God first” on the award shows. No! It doesn’t work like that sorry. That is partial serving (lukewarm). God wants our ALL! We think we can get tattoos that “give glory to God” when he himself said “Do not cut your bodies for the dead, and do not mark your skin with tattoos. I am the LORD” Leviticus 19:28. Then we want to be hardheaded and go back in history to see why God said that so we can get it “But your job is to obey the law, not to judge whether it applies to you.” James 4:11. The biggest excuse I have heard from people that live of this world is “God knows I love him in my heart”, well “Loving God means keeping his commandments, and his commandments are not burdensome” so what does that say?! 1 John 5:3. People our lives are to reflect God & what He wants us to be, not to reflect this world & what it has to offer. How dare we claim to love God and still behave the way we do?!!! It is a sad moment in time to hear ppl say some of the things they do. People brag on materialistic things: money, clothes, cars, rims, phones, ect., but I think the worst is the way people pride themselves in pre-marital sex! “There are many whose conduct shows they are enemies of the Cross of Christ They are headed for destruction. Their god is their appetite and they brag about shameful things and only think about life here on earth”. Philippians 3:18. It is not enough to believe in God we must prove it in our lifestyle. “Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God” Matthew 3:8. I mean it is really surprising they things we “Christians” will defend, the very things that Jesus tells us to run from, sometimes we don’t want to hear the very things that will determine where we will spend eternity. “Those people belong to this world, so they speak from the world’s viewpoint, and the world listens to them. But we belong to God, and those who know God listen to us. If they do not belong to God, they do not listen to us.” 1 John 4:5. Well I know it’s a long message but the purpose is out of love from the Father. “We know that God’s children do not make a practice of sinning” so please decipher yourself today! 1 John 5:18 God Bless~ Shelly
