DJ Jaime Le Mier Bio (aka Jam-N-J / Dj Bpm)It all started In San Jose California in spring of 1987 at the young age of 12 years old. As the break dance era was moving into the miami
bass and freestlye sound, shortly thereafter gansta rap was born. I was in jr high when i saw my first live dj in the mix. It was durring a
school event. prior to this experience i had only new what i had seen in music video's & movies , like GrandMaster Flash & "Jam Master Jay" of Run Dmc & movies like
Beat Street and Breakin' . Later that week , I started to bug my father for equipment , he gave me his old stereo , It consisted of 1 fisher brand turntable and receiver
& a pair of 2 cerwin vega speakers.
Sometime later i finally bought my first mixer with money i had been saving and then a second
turntable was added weeks later. I started buying records at a local shop that had all the best underground music from hip hop to freestlye and dj mixing
records. I had started to listen to San Francisco base radio stations like "kmel & ksol , they had the craziest mixes of music being played that blew my
mind. They had dj's like Cameron paul , alexander mejia , dj efx and mc's like Sway & dj king Tech , the late 80's were trully unique. In 1991 with the help
of my parents we open a music store in the central valley which expose me to more music & friends who were into dj'ing and making music. I went to a music
disturibitor in Sacramento California where i was picking up music & fixtures for our store when we past by a room that had records from wall to wall. I was
allowed to look and pick up what ever i wanted, there's one record that trigger me forever it was Fast Eddie's Acid thunder from this traxx , it was the begining.
In late 1992, I met some new friends that took me to my first rave in san francisco (Toon Town) and then felix the cat events which later turn into Funky Tekno Tribe also
other party's like cool world ,etc. it was the summer of 1993 i was invited to spin in Hawaii from this old school laser guy ,name warren aka Hollywood dog. While I
was there I play along side with dj's: EFX ,Digit ,Rasoul , Aquatuirm ,Graeme aka Dj La paix ,mouse, dj dan ,hardkiss bros. and many others. After my return
back to california , I started promoting my own party's and my first event was in feb. of 94 titled (Catastophic Energy) from this point there was no stopping me!
later that month i was getting a lot of bookings in sf/bay area where I met & played along side with dj's Jeno , Carlos , Q-bert , Simon , Tony Hewitt . In 1995 i had bulit a fan
base from as far south of Fresno & far north of Sacramento and the Central Valley / Modesto and of course the SF/Bay area . It was time for a big Club event!
its march of 1995 the event is called (Catastophic Planet) the dj line-up is , Dj Dan , Graeme La paix , Carlos , Q-bert and myself. This event was a big success for
me and my production. From 1993 to about 2001 I dj'ed in california and across the United States from airport to party and back home. In 2001 after a burn out of traveling
and getting sick i took a break & moved to Los Angeles , where i went to school & started a family. Around 2003 Volume was born in Los Angeles a weekly club event
where I met Dj Ernie de Candeh of Rayne ent. group. In 2005 I moved east to Austin Texas where i now live with my Family and rasing my son. In 2006 I return to the decks
& i'm currently into music production , my monthly event is called House Sessions!!!
