Pianist James Matthews

Hey I'm James Matthews. I started playing the piano at the age of 3 years old under the instruction of my father where I became a piano prodigy. I had been the Junior High School Choir but, it wasn't until I was in the 8th Grade that I took formal piano lessons where I started studying classical music and piano technique.In high school I was very busy accompanying the high school choirs and the Jr. High choirs while participating in many ensembles. I am the pianist for Real Life Church and Florida's First Assembly of God Youth Praise BandMy music events has also allowed me to share the stage and jam with many great bands such as Avirl Lavinge, Evanescence, The Fray, Since October, Vanessa Carlton, and Scars For InnocenceI've participated and won many piano competitons includeing those hosted by the Yahamma and Steinway Piano Company, The MPA and FVA Music Associations, The Assemblies of God’s Fine Arts festivals, etc. This has taken me on an intensive concert tours in the states of . In the summer 2006 and 2007 I attended The Juilliard School of music for six weeks where I studied with a few graduate students. I have participated in many master classes given by world class pianists like Daivde Cabassi, Bob Milan, Emmanuel Ax and Murray Periha.Currently I'm in my second year of college at Chipola College. From here I plan on trasnfering to a Conservatory to finsh my education.The music on my myspace will consist of pop songs that I arranged for vocalists and singers to sing to. As well as Piano Solo Masterworks by great composers.
