Major League
Young Quest, and Baby Girl, are the two rising stars that are straight from the hot Miami music scene. Together they form a fresh, young, no nonsense image and sound, that can be embraced by all walks of life. Both of a carribean decent, they share a certain fire that ultimately shines through in their music. Together they form a team that is strictly “Major Leagueâ€.
Young Quest who is Jamaican American originated from Harlem, NY, where he spent the first 10 years of his life. Growing up in a struggling neighbood with hard times all around him Quest was searching for a way to get his voice out there and tell his story. At the age of 14 he started battling other locals when he moved to Miami, and continued the steady grind for the next couple of years. Keeping consistent with his work, Quest was steadily doing weekly radio shows and countless open mics.
At the young age of 17, while tracking a record for a local mixtape, he met an entrepreneur / manager who was simultaniously working on a project in the same studio and he liked what he had heard. This gentlemen’s name is JoJo of Boss Player Inc. He has an ear for talent and saw the opportunity to link young Quest up with his sister, named Baby Girl, who he’d been working diligently with perfecting her skills both as an artist and producer here in Miami.
Baby Girl is of Haitian decent, but born in Miami and raised in various parts of the multicultural city. Coming up in this close to Miami Beach most of the teenagers spent their time out to the club and partying nonstop, as teenagers usually do. Instead of conforming to the norm, Baby Girl remained focused on perfecting her craft by consistently writing and producing tracks. Even at such an early age she shared her brother’s vision and was determined on getting to the next level.
At the young age of 13 Baby Girl started producing tracks. By the age of 14 she started writing lyrics to the beats and rapping on them. In 2006 Baby Girl and JoJo started her a production company called Dollhouse Music Inc.. Baby Girl had first met Quest at the studio while she was tracking her first record named “Friday†at the age of 15 in the year 2002 .She was impressed by his style and swagger that he brings to the tracks as well as his clever punch lines. Quest in turn loved both her flow and delivery, and was caught off guard by her age due to her level of maturity on the mic. He realized how rare it is to meet a female who approaches rap so aggressively, and who produces her own tracks.
The chemistry between the two was undeniably evident. So evident in fact, that JoJo had to take them to the next level with his vision of making them officially “MajorLeagueâ€, strictly Varsity players, With the level of productivity between the two, and JoJo’s guidance, they have created a machine that is already in motion. From their writings, to Baby Girl’s Productions, they are constantly matching each other’s strengths and have maintained a healthy cycle that fuels itself. Alongside JoJo’s vision at Boss Player Inc and constant direction, Major League will surely make a mark on the map.
