Bobby Burns was born and grew up in the area known as Chislom Avenue, in Kingston, Jamaica. As a youngster, he spent very little of his leisure time in “idle†play with his contemporaries.More often than not, he sought quiet places to “meditate†on social, religious, political and economic issues that were being explored and expressed in “controversial†and thought provoking songs by the “revolutionary†Rastafarian musical prophets of the time. On a daily basis, such issues had a major impact on his life and the lives of all those who inhabited the ghettos of Western Kingston and the entire island of Jamaica
