I'm a professional musician/private drum teacher. I graduated from the University of South Carolina in '92 with a B.A. in English. I promptly moved to Los Angeles and worked in the film industry as an editor (apprentice, then assistant). I moved back to Columbia, SC in '95 to rejoin forces with a friend in his band, Treadmill Trackstar. We toured the country, got signed to Atlantic Records and got dropped. I became a golf professional shortly thereafter ('98), going from never playing the sport to having a 10 handicap in about a year or so. A "dark period" followed, where I bought into the corporate mentality; I was an insurance adjuster for two years ('00-'01). Let's just say that period ended badly. After seriously considering moving back to Los Angeles, I threw myself back into music by teaching lessons, rededicating myself to studying jazz, got married and...here I am! I love my students, my wife & my life...
