I am an anti- war activist, from Derry, N.Ireland.I have been involved in the Irish Anti-War Movement for around 7 years.I am also politically involved in Left wing politics and campaign groups.I have attended various International Anti-Capitalist events, such as the G8 protests in Scotland and Genevea and the ESF in Athens.
Recently 9 comrades in the Derry Anti-War Coalition, gained access to the Raytheon factory here in the city.Raytheon is the world's largest missile manufacturer and the 5th largest arms company.They occupied their offices for 8 hours in a peaceful non-violent protest.During the protest they 'decomissioned' the computers and servers of the merchants of death.
They now face very serious charges in court.This being Northern Ireland they have been charged under the Terrorism act with Aggravated Burglary, criminal damage and unlawful assembly.If they are found guily, they could face, very long gaol sentences.
The action was taken at the height of the onslaught on Lebanon and the occupied West Bank.Raytheon bunker busting bombs rained down on the Middle East.Raytheon Cluster bombs shredded childrens limbs.My comrades could no longer sit back and do nothing.
