My name is Thanos & for the past 10+ years I have lived in Limassol, Cyprus where my company VSE is also based. I am a DJ, Agent & Promoter. I perform, book DJ's & promote events all over the Mediteranian & Middle East. I enjoy what I do as I get to see friends & meet new people at parties & events who also love dance music & having fun. I enjoy all kinds of music especially House, Electro & Trance. My work has also given me the opportunity to travel & meet lots of interesting & important people. This is one of the reasons I still do what I do after so many years but most of all I do it for the love of music & I have said that when the music stops giving me goosebumps I will stop spinning it! I like to think that I am an open minded person who enjoys thought provoking films, innovative music, travelling, haute cooking (I am a proffesional chef) & ofcourse nights around town & in house with friends! The rest of this is an account of my life so far...Tempa has been dj’ing professionally since the early 1990’s. An advertising & promotions man by trade after St Martins London, born & raised in the UK & Cyprus progressed through many styles of music playing at various international venues aswell as hosting radio shows on various Top Stations for more than 10 years.His talent was apparent when he played at the 1st Ministry Of Sound event in Cyprus in December 1995 with Jazzy M then taking up residency for the Ministry Of Sound Cyprus Summer Tour 1996 in Ayia Napa, Cyprus alongside the legendary Frankie Foncett & Peter Conti. In 1996 he formed Very Strawberry Entertainment / VSE considered as one of the finest & most respected agencies in the Mediterranean with ties that stretch from Greece to Dubai.Since then he has held residencies & guest appearances at various bars & clubs aswell as numerous bookings for private & other parties. He has been the subject for many interviews on radio, TV, magazines and newspapers throughout the years as his flair, style & music never fails to please the crowd & commands the clubbers respect. It is safe to say that Tempa has played a premier role in the change & progression of the “Club scene†in Cyprus and will continue to do so for years to come.Tempa was selected to take part as a juror in 2 of the most acclaimed DJ competitions, one being The Smirnoff Dj Competition 2003 & Found @ Thirst Lebanon 2004. He was also selected again to take part in the jury for The Smirnoff Dj Competition 2004, the second year in a row. www.smirnoffdj.com.From 2001 Tempa was performing with top artists such as Judge Jules, Marco V, Matt Hardwick, Scott Bond, Agnelli & Nelson , Soares (Athens), 2Funky (Dusted/Pacha), Rebekah (Dusted/Pacha),Mr Pink (Dusted/Pacha), Enzo (Plastic Fantastic) Stretch & Vern and Trisco to name a few.Tempa is very versatile in his musical style always understanding the needs of the venue & clubbers through experience & incorporating Progressive, Melodic & Uplifting sounds, breakbeat influences aswell as driven vocals which goes to say that there is something for everyone in his sets. Being in a position to receive quality productions & the latest CDR's from various talented & acclaimed producers, his collection is always up to date & filled with the latest which always ensures a wide selection & fresh set everytime.2003 was Tempa’s breakthrough year establishing himself firmly in the Mediterranean & securing his position with Gatecrasher, dj’ing at no less than 7 Gatecrasher events that year alone. Other events in 2003 saw Tempa performing alongside Dj’s Ferry Corsten, Marco V, Eddie Halliwell, Johan Gielen(Svenson & Gielen), John 00 Fleming, Ronald van Gelderen, Astral Projection and Flutlicht.This continued into 2004 where apart from top events in Cyprus with Above & Beyond, Eddie Halliwell, Marco V, Johan Gielen, Scott Bond, Matt Hardwick, Les Hemstock, Solarstone & Ben Lost he also performed at international events including the 1st ever Gatecrasher event in Lebanon hosted at the Monot Street Festival with Eddie Halliwell & Matt Hardwick.Tempa has returned to Lebanon & Jordan with Seb Fontaine, Judge Jules, Marco V & Harry Borg also performing several times at the famous BO18 nightclub in Beirut, ranked in the Top 10 clubs worldwide as it features a unique design & concept including a roof that slides open making it both covered & open air (www.b018.com). At more than 10 international events in 2004 this also makes Tempa the only Greek Cypriot DJ to have achieved such international acclaim in recent years...
