Hot and sweaty rock and roll - the kind that has sounded at home everywhere from the front bar of the local to the worlds largest arenas since the 70s. the temps are its latest exponents, and though they mightnt be rockin stadiums just yet, you mightve been lucky enough to catch them bringing their original dose of classic hard rock to any one of Adelaides finest live music venues.
Quickly establishing a stable of original tracks that feel right at home next to the odd cover of Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC and co, the temps headed to the studio in August 2006 to put 5 of their finest on record. This State of Mind Demo quickly sold through its first production run, and the punters are lapping up the second.
After heavy gigging in early 07, they've taken a little time off to write a bunch more tunes, a few you might've heard slotted into recent sets, and some they've kept under wraps to surprise everyone. the temps are heading to the studio in September to compile the best of these new tracks into Seconds to Freedom, their first ridgy didge EP.
What makes all this so impressive, however, is that the temps have managed all this while still finishing school. Thats right the four members of the temps are only 17 years old. Barely old enough to drive and too young to buy their own drinks, the temps prove rock knows no age barrier.
One of the temps highest profile gigs was Fitzy’s 30th Birthday Bash for Nova 919 at Noarlunga Oval in October 2006, supporting Guy Sebastian. A month later, they headlined The Best of Local Anaesthetic on the Gov’s main stage, pulling an all-ages crowd 450 strong with the four other acts. It didn’t take long for the temps to be asked back, and they took to the Gov’s stage again on Australia Day 07. Having played many gigs all over Adelaide since, they're returning to the Gov's main stage with their new EP in hand in October. But not before they play the Royal Adelaide Show of course.
Dont let the name fool you the temps are here to stay.
