Freedom of Thought is more than a name. It is an ideal, a journey of self-expression and discovery. Freedom of Thought is a movement. It is a means to find personal enlightenment and harmony. Freedom of Thought is an intangible destination. The music is the medium.
Guitarist Rodrigo Sandoval and vocalist Robert Lupica were the founding members of Freedom of Thought, April 2004 in Western Sydney. Old friends, bass guitarist Adrian Martinez, and drummer Santiago Veloso, were invited and joined what then became Freedom of Thought. The final addition to the band was keyboardist, Tayna Vu in late 2006.
Combining styles and various musical influences, Freedom of Thought is a unique and original musical experience which takes the listener on a cross-genre journey through time and space. The combination of relentlessly funky drum beats and phat liquid bass lines create an ideal rhythmic foundation. Soulful and hypnotic guitar riffs and seductive keys combine to provide a perfect pool of sound in which the vocals can preternaturally swim.
Following the successful release of their first single Green and Gold through Universal Music Australia, Freedom of Thought have returned to the studio in preparation for the recording and release of their follow-up EP, an appetiser to a long awaited album.
