BIO
I’m an L.A. based casting director, though I’ve also cast in New York, Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. My background includes film, TV & theatre casting, but my current focus is independent films, which I love. I’m a former Director of Casting/Scripted Series for MTV Networks where I cast the pilots of Undressed and Live Through This among many others. In television I’ve also worked for ABC, NBC, FOX, Universal Studios and Warner Bros. TV Prods.
Of my film projects, the one to hit the most number of world- wide screens (so far) is the Sony/Tristar distributed feature,
I Know Who Killed Me, which is a "darkly funny, off-kilter, scary, sometimes poignant, always disreputable and sleazy " thriller starring Lindsay Lohan , Julia Ormond , Neal McDonough and Brian Geraghty . The film was directed by Chris Sivertson who directed The Lost, which I also cast.
The Lost had its North American premiere at the 2006 SXSW Film Festival and its UK premiere at the 2006 Edinburgh International Film Festival . It was released theatrically in February, 2008. Of the casting, Ain’t it Cool News said,
" A fine cast……. with Marc Senter really stealing the show as Ray... Backing him up is a bevy of beautiful and competent actresses who all perfectly fall into their roles…..most notably Shay Astar, whose performance as Ray’s battered but unconditionally loving girlfriend rips your heart out and lets it bleed in your lap. "
I also cast Harrison Montgomery which stars Academy Award Winner Martin Landau (Ed Wood), Melora Walters (Boogie Nights, Magnolia, HBO's Big Love) and the up and coming New York actor, Octavio Gomez (who recently worked with Steven Soderbergh on the Che Guevara biopic, Guerrilla starring Benicio Del Toro). Harrison recently won the Corona Maverick Award for High Quality in Low Budget Filmmaking at the 2008 Method Fest.
Among my other projects are Tillamook Treasure , which won the Family Feature award at the 2006 Newport Beach Film Festival; Baby , an Asian gangland drama that won Jury Prizes for Best Feature and Emerging Actor (lead actor, David Huynh ) at the 2007 VC Film Fest; Big Bad Wolf , a werewolf movie from Rainstorm Entertainment; and X's & O's , a romantic dramedy that boasts a cast of rising stars including Sarah Wright (Made of Honor, The House Bunny, Surfer Dude), Clayne Crawford (A Love Song for Bobby Long, The Great Raid, Swimfan, Wristcutters: A Love Story), Kel Mitchell (John Sayles' Honeydripper, Mystery Men, Keenan and Kel) and Judy Marte (Raising Victor Vargas, On The Outs) whose work has been acknowledged by two consecutive Independent Spirit Award nominations and a Gotham Award for Best Emerging Actor.
