Did i happen to mention movies???? Just checking :-D *big cheesy grin*
I dabble a bit in the guitar, but that's just fun for me, cuz I'm really no good at it. lol Here's a pic of what my baby looks like...mint and everything :-D
Anything social, dancing, clubbing, pool...that sorta thing. I'm not a big drinker but the irish in me lets me hold my own, and I don't smoke or do drugs, so don't ask.
Anybody with something smart to say. Start a conversation, don't just say hi and nothing else...I really hate that.
I can talk movies until the world ends, I'm always up for learning new things about literature, history (especially ancient - like Egyptians, Greeks, Romans...my minor is classics after all), government and politics (even though this usually tends to be an opinion-based type of conversation), many many other things...

So right now, I'm on one of my music kicks that come around once or twice a year...I'm overkillin' my 80's music collection...OMD, Belinda and the Go-Go's, and tons of one-hit wonders like The Escape Club and Katrina & the Waves, to name a very small few...there will always be a place in my heart for the glorious pop from the 80's. Not all of it though, there was some pretty shitty music that came from the 80's...but if they play it in a club, chances are I'll dance the night away. 'Rebel Yell' anyone?
As for all-times...those include mostly all of the grunge that came out, even if I don't know it, I can most certainly jam to it, of course none of the grunge holds a candle to my fave band, Bush...yes the president has ruined that for me...fucker.
Fave artists include Jewel, Dido, The Offspring, The Cardigans, Norah Jones, and others I'm blanking out right now. I really do watch more movies than I do listen to music, at least anymore.
Favorite song....
'Smooth' by Santana and Rob Thomas...
that's right, I said it!!! :-P
Ahhh...what life is all about. The joy of movies! :)
My favorite movie is Dirty Dancing...this is not based on any scientific film-based fact other than I just love this movie. But everyone's allowed their one POS fluff favorite movie, this is mine!
My favorite kind of films are indies which are films that are not afraid to challenge the fucking mind!
"Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" - Michel Gondry's wonderful film about the things that make us who we are whether we like it or not.
"Garden State" - Zach Braff's directorial debut about a man struggling to find himself while everybody keeps telling him who he is. This is a little more mainstream because of the cast but it has indie heart because it tells a real story about personal substance that I still ponder from time to time. Did I mention it has one of the greatest soundtracks ever?!
"The Good Girl" - often known as that movie Jen Aniston did to try to prove she can act. Well I've always thought she could act and this movie showcases it beautifully. But what I like about this film is not necessarily Aniston...I love how it deals with the idea of restlessness and contentedness. Very few can be as brave as this film is to come to the conclusion it does.
David Lynch's latest flick "Inland Empire" - absolutely without a doubt the best mindfuck ever. If somebody were to ask was it good for me, I would say yes, I think so, give me more. This will be watched many more times in the future, though I do have a take on it after one viewing. The beauty of Lynch though, endless takes can be made on his mindfucks...it's a wonderful thing. Of course anything David Lynch tops my list. Definitely one of my favorite directors.
To go along with the 80's music kick I'm on, you can imagine the plethera of wonderful 80's movies that have stood the test of time. To fulfill the cliche I will confess I love the Hughes' flicks, in particular 'Pretty in Pink' which is in the DVD player right now. Not to discredit the brat-packers who were all wonderful in the 80s and most have had continued success. I'm particularly fond of Andrew McCarthy, who has just recently resurfaced in the mainstream via the truly awful 'Lipstick Jungle.' He's so adorable that it's hard not to watch, I just tune out the scenes he's not in...lol
St. Elmo's Fire would be the pinnacle of this brat-pack era and I'm proud to say I've only seen this movie a few dozen times...only
Well, probably my absolute favorite show is of all time is 'Friends'...I know no other show as well I do this one.
I've also been a fan in the past of 'Sex and the City,' '3rd Rock from the Sun,' and 'Ally McBeal.'
The only show I watch that didn't get cancelled this year is "My Name is Earl."R.I.P.....
'Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip'
'The O.C.' and
'The Black Donnelly's'UPDATE: 2008....I am liking 'Cashmere Mafia' (probably cuz I miss S&TC) and 'Samantha Who?' was an adorable show.
Now that the strike is over, I wonder if these new shows will make more episodes, I really really hope so!!!
Yet something else that should come as no surprise...I read books that have been made into movies. But let me clarify...I don't read "novelizations" of films...that's not the same. It HAD to be a book first. For example, "High Fidelity" written by Nick Hornby...WONDERFUL novel, British, which makes it different from the movie, but still, even better :)
My favorite author is Brett Easton Ellis, who's written the books:
Less Than Zero
American Psycho
The Rules of Attraction
Glamorama
The Informers
Lunar ParkHe's one of the greatest contemporary authors who's often overlooked...if you get a chance to read his work, please do! You won't regret it!!!
I am Catwoman...hear me roar
